Hi
Some of our volunteers and students from USC Eco and the University of the
Sunshine Coast (USC) stood in solidarity for the Pacific Climate Warriors
today (see photo's attached).
We have shared one of these images on Facebook already but you are welcome
to use and edit any/all of them and tag our page:
@USC ECO stand in
> solidarity with the Pacific Climate Warriors who are paddling out tomorrow,
> in hand-built traditional canoes, directly into the oncoming path of coal
> ships coming from the world's largest coal port - Newcastle.
> For 20 years they have asked world leaders to take action to stop
> polluting the atmosphere, but with greenhouse gas emissions and sea-levels
> continuing to rise, Pacific Island nations can no longer wait for the world
> to act. So now 30 warriors from Tokelau, Solomon Islands, the Fiji Islands,
> Vanuatu and Tonga are peacefully standing up directly to the fossil fuel
> industry that is threatening their homes.

So I decided to move the door/porch area - you can see the new giant opening where I removed it. Since this house was purchased partially completed it was already glued so I just cut the tabs on top n bottom holding this piece in and is was super easy - I will glue it back in it's new place, flush to the opening after I get or make the new door and window since it didn't have those either.
I've saved some of the window glass so I can use for the upstairs doors that I will need to get as well - you can see were I placed extra pieces from another part of the house I took apart but I will share that later.
I did find 2 pieces I had of original parts of the turret but the end pieces are odd sizes so that will be my next challenge along with the porch roof.
I also purchased some corbels that will hold up both the balcony and just for decorative use near it. Again another thing that I didn't have for this house.
I've also added a piece of paper in the pitch of roof for thoughts of details I might want to do, so it's kinda fun using paper and tape to get ideas. (trust me I have way to many!!!)

One New Change, London UK - Jean Nouvel and Sidell Gibson Architects - 2010
One New Change, mixed use facility, has opened in Cheapside, London. The project includes over 103,600 m2 of office space and an additional 67,000 m2 for commercial use. It is set to bring life to the area, “all set overlooking London’s most famous landmark, St. Paul’s Cathedral.” The project has sparked controversy as Sian Disson shared, “…staunch traditionalist Prince Charles made his feelings towards the glass and steel hulk clear from an early stage, attempting to have Nouvel thrown off the project when he learnt of the architect’s appointment.” Contrastly the project was awarded by the MIPIM with the jury noting that the project will transform the area bringing a refreshing contrast. While the public voiced their opinion about the colour selection, Nouvel’s use of glass provides blurred reflections of the Cathedral to be seen in its facade, gently referencing the historic landmark within its contemporary presence.
I do this almost every day, rain or shine.

Lambert Memorial Window, 1901 - detail.
Made by Morris & Co.
Designed by Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898).
In memory of Brooke Lambert MA Vicar of this Parish 1872-1878 born 17th day of September 1834 died 5th day of January 1901.
Morris & Co (1861-1947).
The firm was set up in 1861 by William Morris (1834-1896) as Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co, originally with (among others) Edward Burne-Jones, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown and Philip Webb. From 1865 the workshops were in Bloomsbury, and when in 1875 the firm changed its name to Morris & Co, Burne-Jones became the principal designer. In 1881 the workshops moved again, to Merton Abbey. Revolutionary in its beginnings, and extremely influential in terms of design and quality, the firm finally closed in 1947.

Climate Corporate Governance for Financial Institutions - Building resilience to climate change risk
During the past decade, with extreme weather causing hundreds of USD billions of
losses per year and the changing climate intensifying the adverse effects of wasteful
practices, environmental considerations have overtaken economic concerns as the
main sources of global risk, according to the World Economic Forum.
Financial regulators and the European Union are responding with recommendations
and guidance on the disclosure of climate-related financial risks to help integrate
sustainability into investor portfolio management. Credit rating agencies are
developing new ways to anticipate how climate-related risks could impact businesses
and financial institutions.
But is this enough?
To assess whether the financial sector is adequately equipped, the EBRD is brought
together representatives from financial institutions to share their practical experience
of the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of climate-related risk management.
The event discuseed ways to achieve an effective investor-led climate response
via climate corporate governance, standards-based climate finance, climate risk
management, climate-related capital market products.
