Please join River Valley Community Church ( WWW.RVCC.NET ), with lead pastor Steve Good and his wife (and your flickr friend), Jaki Good, in supporting this amazing cause this Easter. We hope to provide at least one playpump for a community from Easter Sunday offerings. One hundred percent of the holiday's offerings will go to this cause!

I really should have pictured my kitchen faucet . Most of us here in the US have one we don't think of much...much less, how it works!!

I find this video very touching...and even more exciting!

One of our favorite cartoons - Bernie Sanders and Eugene V. Debs - together at last. With coconuts.

The Daily Good Morning Afternoon Re-Past (To Laugh That We May Not Weep) - Originally published January 23rd 2017

***Our daily look back at this time, last year***

During his book tour, Bernie was asked if he were stuck on an island with three politicians, who would he choose? He replied, first, with a fabulous history lesson about the mostly forgotten Eugene V. Debs, and continued by expressing he would not mind spending time on an island (preferably a warm one), with him...

We fathom it would go something like this...

One can see the influence of Eugene V. Debs on Bernie, by comparing their two quotes:

"Too long have the workers of the world waited for some Moses to lead them out of bondage. He has not come; he never will come. I would not lead you out if I could; for if you could be led out, you could be led back again."

"Not me, us."

Every teacher wants their students to take action that makes a difference to and in the world. This document was created because the authors believe that the concept of action is more a state of mind than a product. Action can only make a resonating difference to and in the world when it is developed in tandem with a toolbox of explicitly taught skills, modelled behaviours, scaffolded plans and a gradual release of responsibility.

This document contains a service-learning curriculum framework, which includes: strands, sub-strands, phases and online resources that complement the skills focused on at each stage of the learning journey towards sustained action.

Imagine No Malaria dinner on May 14. With the food already prepared, the

silent auction items on display, the rain could be heard on the roof of Zion

United Methodist Church. Then there were the voices. People came! Lots of

people came! The people who came were able to see all of the work that had

gone into the celebration which was designed to raise awareness and money to

fight malaria, especially in Africa. The displays of African mission trips,

artwork, and informative displays told the story of malaria. The African

inspired menu gave everyone a taste of the culture of Africa. The

basketball shooting reminded everyone that a mosquito net is one of the best

ways to prevent malaria.

One evening can make a tremendous difference. Close to $2000 was raised to

help in efforts to eradicate malaria, a disease often transmitted by

mosquitos that kills millions of people. The United Methodist Church has

expanded their ministry for this disease to include Nothing But Nets as well

as other education, prevention, communication, and treatment methods. The

people and business of this community have helped to save lives by

supporting this event. Thanks to all who came out, gave donations, supplied

items and gift certificates for the silent auction. Together we are

changing the world, one life at a time.

At the end of the evening, when all of the bids were in for the silent

auction, the food had been thoroughly enjoyed, and the lights turned off,

the team rejoiced in a job well done and lives that will be transformed

because of an evening. It was indeed a blessing. If you would like more

But first I must take a nap.

And this place is a mess. Something will have to be done about that, as well.

After the nap, of course.

Pencilling in the 'change the world' thing for late Fall.

Amazing book by Chris Guillebeau. Can't wait to meet him in January.

Our colleague Vikram is setting out on an adventure to do his part in changing the world. We held an event to celebrate and learn all about it.

He will be traveling to Coorg India to help a school for homeless children. The organization is called the Children’s Project To help this cause, T4G put together a great night including a presentation by Vikram as well as some live music from fellow T4Gers
