Over the weekend some of my wife's family came to visit us. On Saturday we visited South of the Border and Reptile Lagoon. In the middle of an indoor pond sat an island with lots of alligators. The island was a distance away and my camera was struggling with blur. I still liked this shot and changed it to black and white.
We are all united by this fire burning inside each and everyone one of us, inspiring change and filling us with hope for a brighter future.

Hummingbird Community, an aspiring ecovillage in Mora, New Mexico had a
garden work party as their effort to curb climate change. We harvested
jalapenos and green bell peppers in the garden and turned the soil for
winter bedding, and joked about how we were picking hot food to cool the
climate.

What's on my desktop today? (...besides a really dirty keyboard...ew! It sooo needs cleaning.) Change Notes! Wooohoo...Fun! "What's a 'change note'?" you may ask. Well... when the picture dept. makes changes to the film... we (sound editorial) need to make the same changes in order to keep our tracks in sync with the picture. So... our 2nd Assistant makes a change note from the EDL (Edit Decision List) spit out by the picture editing systems. Ok... I feel some of you yawning... it's really exciting... no really!!
:-p
"CHANGE" signs were distributed just prior to Senator Obama's speech.

The old Metropole Hotel on Townsville's south-side is now dwarfed by its new neighbors. The Hotel M occupies the space which once housed the iconic beer garden of this old pub and a monolithic apartment block sits where the Crown Hotel used to provide the best view of the creek to accompany your beer. I wanted to do something original for this theme, so I decided to go the fortune cookie route. If it's already been done before, don't tell me because I haven't seen it and I'm feeling like I did something creative :)
In 2023 Salts Mill at Saltaire in West Yorkshire displayed David Hockney's biggest picture - a 90.75 metres wide frieze recording the changing seasons in and around his French garden in Normandy.
The work joins together some of the 220 iPad pieces Hockney created during 2020. He comments on the work: "the viewer... will walk past it like the Bayeux tapestry, and I hope they will experience in one picture the year in Normandy".
