Shot at a hillside temple overlooking a forest valley - there were two Changeable Hawk-Eagles that day - this was the older one of the two. It perched here for a long time till there was sufficient light.
This Eagle then tried to find a meal and attacked an infant monkey multiple times. We could see the attack, but the view was obstructed by bushes and hence couldn't take a shot. After many unsuccessful attempts the Eagle gave up and moved to another higher perch on the hill behind us.
These are resident raptors in India found throughout the year. They are formidable hunters and target small birds, reptiles, mammals in the forests. The call too is quite easy to id and they are heard often in the forests in our state.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback Much appreciated.
I started my trip to Nepal In Bardia national Park. I had read it was less touristic than Chitwan, but more a a less the same sort of park. In it there would be tigers, Rhinos, deer and all other sorts of animal species. The tigers I didn't see, but there were many bird species, and although I didn't carry my wildlife camera with me on this trip, I have a few nice shots from this trip!
One of the reasons for going in Spring to Nepal was Bardia. it is the best time to visit. The grass is still low and temperatures are bearable.
The Changeable Hawk-eagle or Crested Hawk-eagle (Nisaetus cirrhatus) is a bird of prey species of the family Accipitridae. It was formerly placed in the genus Spizaetus, but studies pointed to the group being paraphyletic resulting in the Old World members being placed in Nisaetus (Hodgson, 1836) and separated from the New World species.
Changeable Hawk-eagles breed in the Indian subcontinent, mainly in India and Sri Lanka, and from the southeast rim of the Himalaya across Southeast Asia to Indonesia and the Philippines. This is a medium-large raptor at about 60–72 centimetres (24–28 in) in length with a 127–138 centimetres (50–54 in) wingspan, and a weight ranging from 1.2 to 1.9 kg (2.6 to 4.2 lb).
Thanks for your visit… Any comment you make on my photograph is greatly appreciated and encouraging! But please do not use this image without permission.

Changeable conditions on a recent trip to the Lakes & different weather to my last upload. It was incredibly windy and the clouds soon disappeared making the scene high in contrast, luckily I managed to capture this frame with softer shadows before. A view looking to Crummock snaking off towards Buttermere.

Shot at a hillside temple overlooking a forest valley - there were two Changeable Hawk-Eagles that day - this was the younger one of the two. Little did we expect to see it in action.
The Eagle soon dived to catch a Giant Indian Squirrel and disappeared into the bush where the squirrel was last seen. But 15 minutes later when it came out, it had no catch and we assumed it was unsuccessful. It then perch on another point with a great view and surveyed the valley looking for opportunity.

The Changeable Hawk-eagle or Crested Hawk-eagle is a bird of prey species of the family Accipitridae. This one was seen in Udawalawa National Park, Sri Lanka.
On the return trip to Gravesend the weather started to turn for the worse, but this also created some very nice splashes of sunlight on the boats and water.
Changeable weather greeted a morning walk around Churn Clough Reservoir near Sabden, with a few photography chums.
Clouds and showers driven by strong south-westerly winds created shafts of light on the distant masted Hambledon Hill.
I decided to go with a black and white version of this image to accentuate the crespecular rays on the far hillside.

I think we sighted two of these birds simultaneously - but my partner is unsure. This one came over the dense hill and surveyed the area for a while before flying away. The other just made a kill and flew away with the kill.
Thanks in advance for your views / comments. Much appreciated.
After going through Uig we stayed on the A87 and just south of Portree going through Glen Varragill, the sky went quite dark, I just had to get a photo!

A changeable day often leads to beautiful sunsets. Taken on a tripod - just a single frame. Wide angle 16-36 adapted onto the Canon R5. Struggled a bit with composition and the sun is a bit central for my liking - but the tramlines created greated FG interest so allowed them to take precedence. F13 to star the sun.
