The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is a street in Paris, France. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops and clipped horse-chestnut trees, the Champs-Élysées is arguably one of the world's most famous streets, and is one of the most expensive strips of real estate in the world.

Several French monuments are also on the street, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde. The name is French for Elysian Fields, the place of the blessed dead in Greek mythology. According to a much used description, the Champs-Élysées is la plus belle avenue du monde ("the most beautiful avenue in the world").

A la recherche de sites pour observer des oiseaux. Sur ce premier site nous avons surtout vu des fleurs. Beaucoup de fleurs. Et quelques rapaces.

We were looking for places to observe birds. On this first field we mostly saw flowers. Lots of flowers. And a few birds of prey.

Welcome to the notorious Avenue des Champs-Élysées - a beautiful shopping district beginning from the dispersion of roads at the Arc de Triomphe. Despite its much of its proclaimed hype, this place will always remain in my heart as a tourist trap with a cess pool of criminals waiting to pounce on the incognizant and oblivious sightseer.

Le bleuet des champs pousse spontanément dans les jachères et les champs de céréales (d'où son nom). Avec notamment les coquelicots et les matricaires, il fait partie de ce qu'on appelle les plantes messicoles (qui « habitent dans les champs »).

The cornflower of fields grows spontaneously in the fallows and the fields of cereal. With in particular poppies and matricaires, it is a member of what we call messicoles plants (which " live in fields ").
