ANSH challenge

taken for Our Daily Challenge - with a flower on it.

I found it hard to decide between the two but my husband liked this one best because of the contrast between the metal and the splintery wood so this is what I went with.

This weeks challenge was multicolour!! I found this tricky but nipped to the corner shop and snapped his display of chocolates then to make it more colourful turned it into an orb/ellipse on a yellow background the original pic is underneath.

MY THANKS TO ALL WHO VISIT AND COMMENT IT IS APPRECIATED

I'm entering this in the LPC chipboard challenge and CAS-ual Fridays. Since Santa brought me a Big Shot Pro, I've been cutting everything! It cuts chipboard and fabric like buttah! And I LOVE this new stamp, Spring Dream, from Hero Arts!

OK... the Pirate Challenge I've already teased about isn't quite ready... so I'm giving you all a very easy one that most of you may already know about... if not... enjoy... :)

Get yourselves to Hazardous located on the Misali sim... yes i'm sure you are all familiar with this place... once on the ground look for a barn near a pond... between the two is a well... with boards partially coving the top... Get a picture of yourself climbing into this well AND see if you can get a picture of yourself exiting the well at the bottom. Have fun with that...

2017 weekly alphabet challenge W- wasted

Strassenkreuzertreffen Kaunitz 2022

Last week's photo was inspired by a japanese test I had: I had to learn about 150 kanji (japanese ideograms) in like two days. After spending hours complaining, I decided to take it as a challenge, so here's the theme of the week :)

(I have to be honest, I now have something like a kanji-phobia but it's ok)

Song : Madness : My Name Is Michael Caine. 1984

I, am Michael Caine

He's walking where I'm afraid I don't know

I see the firemen jumping from the windows

There's panic and I hear somebody scream

(Aaaah)

He picks up useless paper

And puts it in my pocket

I'm trying very hard to keep my fingers clean

I can't remember tell me what's his name

(My name is Michael Caine)

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep at home

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

The sun is laughing its another broken morning

I see a shadow and call out to try and warn him

He didn't seem to hear

Just turned away

The quiet fellow follows and points his fingers

Straight at you

He had to sacrifice his pride yes throw it all away

(I am Michael Caine)

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep at home

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

His days are numbered he walks round and round in circles

There is no place he can ever call his own

He seems to jump at the sound of the phone

Staring out the window there's nothing he can now do

All he wanted was to remain sane

He can't remember his own name

(My name is Michael Caine)

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep at home

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

And all I wanted was a word or photograph

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep at home

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

And all I wanted was a word or photograph

And all I wanted was a word or photograph to keep

I've been challenged by Izzy Standbridge to post five black and white pictures on five consecutive days (that's one on each of the five days), and on each of those days to challenge another person to do the same.

This has been far more of a challenge than I thought it would be, it has coincided with grey damp weather with not much chance to get out with the camera. Suprise, suprise I'm adding a lighthouse shot this time, it wouldn't be me without one.

The fourth person I'm going to ask to take up this challenge of five black and white images in five days is Nigel Collins. (You don't have to do it Nigel, and if you do decide to take up the challenge, you don't have to do it straight away…)

A few challenges unfolded with this photo. I took lots of photos during the music festival in St. Louis that had part of the street turned into a roller rink, but most of those had kid's faces in them and I didn't want to post those here. Depicting the movement of skating was one of the challenges. And, of course, there's the challenge for the skaters to stay upright. And I snapped some of those, too but again, mostly kid's faces I don't necessarily want to share.

These three items were submitted to the Brick Mecha Division's monthly part challenge.. in this case the mudguards that make up the roof of this particular unit. We'll call it the Mobile Gun..

For a photo challenge this week, I used my smartphone at a local store to take photos looking straight down at my subject. For some reason, these mannequin pieces were lying on the floor, and I thought it looked really fun. I added some texture filters and changed the brown carpet to seagreen!

Life is just stressful here these days. My favorite retreat is with a good book, and we have to take advantage of the Crepe Myrtle's prettiness while it's in bloom. Thank goodness Bunny is easygoing!

OK start this challenge by finding your way to a sim called “Gothic Clothing”.

As you rezz at the landing zone you will notice you are on a platform in front of castle. This is the home of Avid Gothic Clothing. Before you go in to the castle see if you can find your way to an outside lounge (pictured)…. It’s very close by and has a huge fire and a very cozy couch. From this lounge is a very thin walkway leading to what I call “the infinity chair” (pictured). Sit yourself in the chair and take a picture…. But be very careful standing up… you may land in the water below. Good luck.

Now find your way back to the landing zone and go into the castle… in front of you will be some steps going up. Behind them are steps going down… to the library (pictured). Take a picture of yourself in front of the bookshelves then inspect the bookshelves closely and see if you can find the secret passage. Once thru the passage, follow the passage until it opens up at the top of some steps. Follow the steps down and look for an opening to a room with a wood floor and big red curtain (pictured)... If you want to... take a picture at the curtain then walk thru it and down the steps to a doorway.

Once thru the doorway follow the passage DOWN to a patio with a bench and a railing… take a picture of yourself with the ship behind (pictured) you OR move over to the little footbridge and take a picture there… be sure that the ship is behind you.

Post your pictures on Flickr and be sure to send them to the Pirate Challenges Group. You will then be given an award for completing the challenge and your name will be added to this photo.

I have seen a lot of moose in my time....but seeing this one up close and personal as he prepared to receive a challenge from a younger bull was the most heart pounding photo work I've done in a long time.

Let me take you to the moment.

We were standing about 30 yards away and the challenger was approaching from the left...and then this veteran started making grunt like noises that got louder and louder. The youngster then began making the same type of sounds. They were communicating with an unmistakable tone...full of fight and determination.

There was a light rain and I was equally conscious of the people with me and I kept saying "stay by the SUV and be ready to jump in"... and "keep the doors open". The flight or fight adrenalin rush was kicking in and I felt it hard to hold the camera without shaking.

I'm trying to lock focus and watch the young bull with my peripheral vision while the drama is unfolding before me.

There is electricity in the air and my heart is beating so fast I believe I can feel it pushing my shirt out.

The young bull walks two steps closer. The veteran raises his head...

Talk about feeling alive....were you there with me for a second or two? I hope so.

We belong to a very fun and friendly Flickr group called Down Under Challenge. If you are interested in photo manipulation you might like to join us.
