The MINI Challenge has become firmly established as one of the most important single make championships in the UK thanks to its combination of class structure, cost effectiveness and professionalism. Indeed, to the astute aspiring race driver, it can be considered as a direct route to the BTCC.
The school's adopted charity from 2011 is SKRUM, an AIDS charity which educates young southern Africans through a sporting medium.
Money is being raised here by getting rugby balls through the hole in the board, easier than it looks. It's called the Brian Moore Challenge (check out the face on the board).
School charity matters are organised by Rhiannon Wynne.

I tried capturing this statue last week for "Statues/Monuments" week, but I had my nifty fifty with me, and I couldn't frame this statue well without standing in the street. Managed to come back to it yesterday with my 35mm, but found the bright midafternoon sun to pose a challenge. Ah well, it is what it is; two attempts is likely all I'll manage. Maybe someday if I have my camera at work with this lens on an overcast day I'll try again.
This statue constantly reminds me that Maryland was officially a Southern state during the Civil War. It shows two Southern generals, Gen. R. E. Lee and Gen. Stonewall Jackson.
