This statue may look rough, but that is due to my uncle making this model with only a chainsaw!

It is a model MS 250 C-BE. It is quite powerful, I think, good for small trees and limbing, which is mostly what I do. It is much lighter than Frank's, though still has a 16" bar, and has the "easy start", which really works. It weighs just over 10 pounds.

Either a shocking case of chainsaw massacre or can some green-fingered guru explain what is going on here? Theories welcomed??? Spotted driving from Eastbourne to Hastings, at Bexhill. Personally, I'm hedging my bets on this.

Unfortunately, getting a clear shot of the Gairney Burn Viaduct is very tricky due to all the trees that line the steep slopes of the Gairney Glen. As such, I've come up with a phrase you can use to describe impressive viaducts that are difficult to photograph. I now refer to viaducts like Pottiehill, Glenfarg, Kenly, Den Finella, Larkhall and Gairney Burn to name but a few as chainsaw viaducts as you'd need to bring in a chainsaw in order to see them properly.
With that said, trees can't grow in rivers so with that in mind, I scrambled down the gorge side in order to try and get a clearer view of what happens to be a very imposing and wonderful six arch viaduct. Some sources claim it only has five arches but there are definitely six there. The elusive sixth arch is just about visible to the left of this shot. It's not especially tall and mostly hidden by foliage so you'd be forgiven for missing it, though.
I was driving on Old Main Street in Conneaut, Ohio, when I spotted a guy with a chainsaw carving a figure of an old mariner at the wheel of his vessel from the trunk of a tree. The top of the tree had already been removed.

Fuel reduction work is key to creating defensible space. It can include limbing trees to prevent a ground fire from climbing into the crowns and carrying flames to homes.
