Cap's Place, Lighthouse Point, Florida
A unique restaurant on its own island near Lighthouse Point, Cap's Place has been going since the 1920s.
Front of lower chain guide tube complete and all bolted up. I used a section of PVC with a bell fitting molded in, then sawed it off, preserving just the curved opening to better guide the chain.

These innocent chains became casualties of a battle between 635 horsepower and 16 tires versus a tile plow sunk in several tons of mud. You can see that the chains have already been repaired from past wounds. I as the medic, figured that a new draft would be more practical, and so now we have new recruits. Their battle days will come.
The Golden Horn is the name given to a prominent horn-shaped estuary that joins the Bosphorus Strait. The Byzantine Empire had its naval headquarters there, and at the entrance to the Horn, a large chain was pulled across from Constantinople to the old Tower of Galata to prevent unwanted ships from entering the estuary and attacking the city.
This is presumably the last one used and is now in the military museum, Istanbul.
