This is one of many interesting stones at Kukaniloko, a historic and sacred royal birthing site in Hawaii. This diamond shaped stone was used to map the stars and mark seasonal changes by the Kahunas.

Our Celestial Bodies is the second of a two-part project designed by artist Laurel Porcari for the Weiler Lobby, located in the Einstein Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. The work consists of five discs hung on a wall in the main hospital entrance. Intended to visually anchor the waiting area, the discs are made of fused art glass in circular, monolithic style frames. This work is part of The Fine Art Program and Collection at Montefiore Einstein. Dimensions: (1) 48" diam, (1) 38" diam, (3) 26" diam.

I sat down on this imaginative seat after walking quite a few blocks down Monroe Ave yesterday. The seat across the street at the bus stop was just a plain wooden "seat-seat". I took two of my sign pictures while sitting here. Isn't it nice when you can take pictures while sitting down!?

Taken last night near Buffalo Creek in the Rocky Mountains. I had planned to go up to a lake but about a third of the way there the road was closed due to high water. Pretty excessive snow melt in some places this year. So I just stopped at the 'road closed' sign and made the most of it.

The Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest is a protected area high in the White Mountains in eastern California these majestic LIVING trees are ages up to 5,500 years old the oldest living being's on the planet surviving 9,800-11,000ft at this elevation there are virtually no predators, it only felt right to capture the milky way behind such a celestial being. This shot took me 3 days to get.
