At Durrell today, the sun shone and all the animals seemed to be in high spirits. They all put on a show for us and the gorillas were especially entertaining

More potato salad. I have never made more potato salad than I have this summer. And it's only July. So glad people are over that whole Schmatkins noise.

Cross section showing the Parenchyma and Collenchyma. 100x under the light microscope. Toluidin blue stain - cell walls are purple and the lignin is green.
My wife doesn't like celery, but she has bought some because she believes it to be healthy, and she wants us both to lose weight.

Celery and Celeriac
- legumes, apple
I became speechless with the first bite - now this became the best thing I have ever eaten. I can't describe flavors on this plate, as those were intertwined with the textures in a way I have not seen before.
Everything on the plate ranged from raw to perfectly cooked, and everything in between. Absolutely astounding.

Water control and bird watchers paradise. This area was a celery farm in the 1920's, owned by Bertha Palmer (Chicago fame).

Interesting Facts about celery:
1. I enjoy Celery with penut butter as a tasty healthy snack
2. It takes only one ounce of celery seeds to produce a whole acre of celery
3. One stalk of celery contains around 10 calories
4. Celery is quite boring and does not have many interesting facts
It is finals week and I need to stay focused, I can not wait for this week to be over. Its nice to have a time set aside in my day to be silly and take some photos.
