I took this Photograph of a Whole Lot of Coca Cola Signs and Memorabilia in a Display Case at the World of Coca Cola Museum in Atlanta, Georgia.

DISCLAIMER: This Photograph was a Tough One to touch up in Photoshop Elements 10 because of the Reflections on the Glass Display Case and and numerous reflections from the Florescent Lights and Spot Lights in the Ceiling. I spent a few hours fixing the most of the reflects, but a few minor ones remain. Some of the remaining Reflections, such as the two Reverse Circular Coco Cola Logos in the center of the Photograph actually add to my Presentation.

Pharmacist John Stith Pemberton invented Coca Cola in 1886. The Coca Cola Museum fronts on a small park near the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel where we stayed during our visit to Atlanta. The World of Coca Cola Museum is located at 121 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313.

In June 2018, my wife & I attended a Family Wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn, 275 Baker Street in Atlanta, Georgia. One end the hallway on the on the 13 Floor (they call it Floor PH) gave me a Great View of the CSX Tracks, while the other end of the hallway gave me a great view of the Skyview Ferris Wheel across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.

Since we were in Atlanta for several days, I had some time to visit the Coca Cola Museum, which was a short 2 blocks away from our Hotel.

an empty swimming pool, once used to train soldiers, sits drained and surrounded by graffiti and various forms of debris in one of the last buildings left at the Fort Ord Army post in Monterey Bay in California.

DESIGN DETAILS:

"DAWN" Retro Living Collection

Our new living collection "DAWN" has arrived with a few pieces which will be expanded on in the later months. It's comfortable, stylish and sleek with an overall "feel good" look. I've split the collection into two colour groups, warm and cool tones for both the fabrics and woods. For our first pieces released we have a comfy chair with 32 high quality sit animations (both male & female) and colour menus that allow you to select 6 leather or velvet options for either the main seat or the pillow / ribbing combined - 12 colours in all. This way you can mix and match the seat and details, colour wise or have a straight solid colour look. The floating square table comes in 3 neutral woods or 3 cool woods, in 3 metal options all made to match the seating colours. Then for some accent pieces, we have pendant lighting with on/off functionality (in 4 woods), an Art Deco floor light with 6 levels of glow, then finally packs of luxurious velvet rugs to match in 12 colours, split into warm and cool tones. This retro collection would be perfect for lounges, bars, café areas or just a place for total relaxation.

A soaring view of the Library of Congress's Thomas Jefferson Building reveals the astonishing grandeur of its stained glass skylight and richly decorated ceiling. This image captures the view straight up into the heart of the Main Hall’s upper reaches, where Renaissance Revival splendor meets American optimism. The meticulously designed skylight—composed of nine intricately patterned stained glass panels—floods the hall below with diffused natural light, filtered through deep blues, pale greens, and soft amber hues arranged in dazzling floral rosettes. Each pane is framed in classical molding and bordered with coffered recesses, lending the ceiling architectural depth and rhythmic balance.

Surrounding the skylight is an explosion of Gilded Age ornamentation. Vibrant murals adorn the curved lunettes, where allegorical figures, winged cherubs, and classical motifs dance amidst scrolls and garlands. Dominated by deep greens, ochres, and golds, the painted ceiling panels feature lavish symbolism, including cornucopias, lyres, doves, and open books—visual metaphors celebrating knowledge, abundance, and the arts. Painted inscriptions, winged figures, and decorative medallions emphasize themes of enlightenment and civic virtue. These decorations, executed under the direction of the master artist Edwin Howland Blashfield and other artisans of the 1890s, elevate the room into a temple of American intellectual achievement.

The photograph’s strong vertical composition draws the eye directly into the stained glass skylight, flanked by fluted pilasters and Corinthian capitals that hint at the structure's monumental scale. The clarity of the glasswork, combined with the warmth of the muraled soffits and barrel vaults, illustrates the harmonious integration of architecture and fine art—a defining characteristic of the Beaux-Arts style.

Built between 1890 and 1897, the Thomas Jefferson Building was conceived as a showcase of American progress and democratic ideals. The ceiling’s opulence was never meant to intimidate but to inspire: to suggest that every citizen had the right to knowledge, learning, and beauty. In that spirit, the murals, stained glass, and ornamentation are not just decorative—they’re didactic, layered with meaning and designed to educate every visitor who looks up.

Today, this ceiling remains one of the most photographed and admired architectural features in Washington, D.C. Whether visited by scholars, tourists, or architectural enthusiasts, it serves as a reminder of the nation's commitment to culture and civic literacy. The interplay of light, art, and symbolism in this space continues to evoke awe—a testament to the enduring power of public architecture done right.

Looking up through an intricate lighting installation reveals a mesmerizing pattern in electric blue. The piece transforms an ordinary ceiling into a study of symmetry and light, with dozens of illuminated points radiating outward from a central nexus. The monochromatic color scheme, dominated by deep cobalt and cyan hues, creates an almost otherworldly atmosphere. Small circular lights punctuate the geometric lines that stretch toward the edges of the frame, while darker shadows add depth and dimension to the composition. The technical precision of the installation combines with artistic vision, producing an effect reminiscent of starbursts or cosmic phenomena. This architectural lighting element demonstrates how functional illumination can transcend its basic purpose to become an immersive visual experience. The photograph's upward perspective emphasizes the dramatic spread of the design, while the intense blue saturation gives the image an almost abstract quality. The careful placement of each light point creates a rhythm across the surface, drawing the viewer's eye from the center outward along multiple paths. This intersection of technical lighting design and visual impact showcases how interior spaces can be transformed through thoughtful manipulation of light and geometry. The image captures both the practical and aesthetic aspects of modern lighting design, illustrating how functional elements can create unexpected moments of beauty in built environments.

This is a pic of the ceiling decorations in the hall where the wedding from the previous post was held...

I chose this title because I thought it was an appropriate song for a wedding!

YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE

So many nights I sit by my window

Waiting for someone to sing me his song

So many dreams I kept deep inside me

Alone in the dark but now

You've come along

You light up my life

You give me hope

To carry on

You light up my days

and fill my nights with song

Rollin' at sea, adrift on the water

Could it be finally I'm turning for home?

Finally, a chance to say hey,

I love You

Never again to be all alone

You light up my life

You give me hope

To carry on

You light up my days

and fill my nights with song

You light up my life

You give me hope

To carry on

You light up my days

and fill my nights with song

It can't be wrong

When it feels so right

'Cause You

You light up my life

I love this song! :)

No telling how many years this sat in my closet waiting to get the ladder and hang this. I decided it was easier to hang it in its original state and unbag it afterward. Worked fine, took some time to remove the tiny plastic bags covering each strand. I am looking for the perfect bulb now.

Generally I do not use a ceiling fixture, but prefer lamps. I have another exact capiz shell shade, intending to create hanging capiz shell lamps on either side of the bed....suspended from the ceiling. Hmmmmmm.......where to put the twin.....
