This is a portion of the ceiling at The Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, Georgia.
I had switched the White Balance to "Incandescent" so I'd have a truer example of the color of the stone used to build the cathedral. If you look at the whole set, you'll see some with a warmer color balance that were shot with a the White Balance on "Daylight".
The sharp-eyed among you may have noticed every shot in the latest installment of this set was made with just one lens -- the 80-200mm F2.8. I spent about 3 hours photographing the cathedral (inside and out) and I never switched lenses. It is simply the way that I see as a photographer. Unless the situation specifically requires a short lens, I prefer a longer one. It's not that one is superior over the other. It is simply how I see -- how my brain picks out and frames a photograph.

Wood, carved, painted and gilded
The ceiling covering gallery 459 is a testament to the resilience and persistence of traditional Islamic design in Andalusia after the Christian Reconquista. This so-called mudéjar style was especially prevalent in the Aragon and Castile-León regions of Spain, where many Christian churches incorporate similar ceilings. The ceiling is comprised of thirty carved, painted, and gilded pinewood panels. The ceiling originally was designed for a smaller space; it was later expanded, explaining its somewhat uneven geometric pattern. In addition to the Islamic-inspired star pattern, a whimsical frieze of gilded running animals, flying birds and swirling vine scrolls decorates the cornice.
The ceiling/roof of the Guggenheim Museum in New York, taken 3 days ago, great piece of architecture!
The Old Dining room is the finest surviving Gothic interior at Insole Court. It features a frieze depicting 'The Four Seasons' which runs all around the room above the picture rail. Painted by Fred Weekes, a friend of William Burges. The frieze was restored in 1995 and a missing section of 6 feet was recreated due to the ravages of dry rot. The room also features a mahogany buffet situated in an arch way of carved Penarth alabaster. The ceiling is made from pitch pine above an elaborately carved teak cornice. The ceiling rose is made from gilded iron & is set with balls of coloured glass.
Comes the morning
When I can feel
That there's nothing left to be concealed
Moving on a scene surreal
No, my heart will never, will never be far from here
Sure as I am breathing
Sure as I'm sad
I'll keep this wisdom in my flesh
I leave here believing more than I had
And there's a reason I'll be, a reason I'll be back
As I walk the hemisphere
I got my wish to up and disappear
I've been wounded, I've been healed
Now for landing I've been, for landing I've been cleared
Sure as I am breathing
Sure as I'm sad
I'll keep this wisdom in my flesh
I leave here believing more than I had
This love has got no ceiling
