The Cathedral of Málaga is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Málaga in Andalusia in southern Spain. It is in the Renaissance architectural tradition
This section of the ceiling has fewer snakes and more of the usual scenes of the underworld. Esna temple. Esna, Egypt.
The ceiling at Leake Street doesn't get as much attention as the walls, for obvious reasons, but when it does the work is usually stunning. Forground is by Psychodoodlz, with the entrance to The Vaults at the bottom right. The portrait bottom left is the work of Olivier Roubieu.
My nephew would call this "The bestest book store ever."
Well, it is an ordinary book store but in a lovely 19th century grade II listed building.
And they had pretty stairs :o)
(And a not so pretty carpet...)

Quite a busy shot but I love the roof on show at Leadenhall Market. I must try to go back here and take another shot where I'm standing right underneath looking up.
Right I'm off to a celebrate the New Year at a friends house. I hope that 2010 brings you all happiness.

Taken with an Olympus E-P2 using a Panasonic 14mm lens, edited from RAW in LR5, and cleaned up a little noise-wise in Dfine.
The 14mm Panasonic lens is just wonderful. This was taken hand-held, and even in remarkably little light using ISO 1600 on the E-P2, good information was picked up in RAW. The larger image shows clear definition when cropped down even at this distance.
I'd've liked the windows at the back not to be haloing, but it was mid-day when this was taken, so light intrusion was to be expected when metering in such a dark building.
the second largest church in Trento - Italy (see map), this church hosted several meetings of the "Council of Trent" (see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_Trent )

This is the ceiling of a church dedicated to the founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius Loyola. The painter was Andrea Pozzo in the late seventeenth century. Have a look at how he cleverly made the painting look three-dimensional when it is on a flat surface. As with many ecclesiastical buildings in Rome, the decoration is sumptuous and money was obviousy no object.

Woke up looking at this each morning when back in Ireland last 'summer'
The is just a section of the ceiling in the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. It is a terrific set of stained glass.
Always look up when you are touring architecturally significant buildings. San Simeon was designed by Julia Morgan to incorporate medieval and renaissance European art and furnishings, including entire ceilings like this.

What a grotty day, rain over rain, no possibilities for a cool shot - so you get only this.
