The CD player in our civic stopped working this week, so I took off the panels and was about to take the CD player completely apart. I then decided throw a CD in and to give it one more shot, and the CD player started working! It seems to be okay for now (knock, knock), so I put the panels back on. I hope it doesn't spaz out again!

Too Early - I Should Be Just Leaving Home Now.
Ten past eight is far too early to be in my office when I don't start until nine. Especially as it means I have to leave the house at 7.30am, in the dark, to get there. My usual route should get me to work at five to nine. Sometimes the second of my two buses is late. Sometimes it does not turn up at all and I have to get an expensive cab the rest of the way.
The only reliable way of getting to the office in time is to take a different bus. It runs to the OU just once a day, leaving from the bus station a mile from my house at 7.53am. Regular users tell me it is frequently early. It gets to the OU at 8.03am. I'll use the time for studying. Our library isn't open that early and if I go to my desk I won't get the peace to study. So here I am, in the not-yet-open cafe studying my new course and listening to 'There's a light (over at the Frankenstein place)' at the time that I would usually be leaving my house.
My first shot for today was me holding my watch up to the camera pulling a face. But I looked so awful that I just cut and pasted the watch into this photo.

Finally i remembered my notepad! And I was able to get both his name and email address.
I sat down across from him on the train into downtown Los Angeles. I loved the way the light from outside interacted with the lights inside the passenger car (though looking back the outside light was quite a bit harsher than i had thought). We ended up talking the entire trip on topics ranging from Taoism to his vagabond nature.
