Print in the Cromarty Courthouse
Cromarty Courthouse was built in 1771-73 by George Ross, laird of the Cromarty Estate. Ross took over the estate in 1767 and was responsible for improving the town and its inhabitants. The courthouse housed the county and burgh councils but the cell block, at the rear of the building, was not added until 1845.
...Over time the courthouse became too expensive to run and it was eventually closed in 1872. It functioned for a while as a police lock-up and was also used by the navy.

The Grand River has long been known to local anglers as a home to very large small mouth bass, some even into the 20 inch range. Throughout the river, and many of its tributaries, lurk Walleye, Pike, various species of Catfish and Carp providing many angling opportunities. During spawning times the Grand River is teeming with Coho and Chinook salmon, as well as Steelhead, Lake and Brown Trout. In the downtown area, some of the best fishing can be accomplished just below the Sixth Street Dam (salmon), at Ah-Nab-Awen Park (bass), and near the Ann Street bridge (catfish).
2) When the vehicles come to a halt, everybody run and grab a buck to restrain it to prevent injury. The bucks then get a "calm-down" injection and are then sorted and carried to the waiting bakkies

Two in a series of catch pools within Dale Villa Park. The idea is a series of pools with filtering vegetation to remove phosphorus and nitrates from water flowing into Lake McCarrons.
A difference in vegetation can be seen in the two pools shown here - perhaps due to the higher and lower levels of run-off pollutants.
