This is the same sail that I photographed here;

Only on this one I played around in Photoshop and really tried to bring out the texture in the sail which was so incredibly beautiful!

I took this shot after waking up late on Christmas day. They love fire crackers here in Sri Lanka and compared to what we have in Europe these are more like bombs than crackers! Although I love watching them they do make It virtually impossible to sleep during major holidays here ; )
Traditionally the catamaran sails are painted red in Sri Lanka, but this one was not painted yet. The view with the palm trees and catamaran from our balcony looked like a scene from a traveling catalog so I went out and took some shots of the boat. They are such lovely boats and you see them by the hundreds early in the morning hugging the costal line looking for fish. A funny thing about the sail is that since the quality of the fabric is not what we would use for sails, they splash water on them so as to make them able to catch more wind.
Merry Christmas everyone!

couples has a no clothes allowed island a short boat ride away. - these people decided to show their asses as our catamaran passed by
After building so much trucks I wanted to make something else. On my list are some planes, ships and heavy equipment.
I thought I'd start with something small and then build my way up to something bigger. This small catamaran was a try out for some SNOT hull's, as I forbid myself to use the large pieces.
It's a pleasure vessel and as it's name suggests, the owners like to go out and swim with dolphins. Now I'm no nautical man, but I imagine this on short sea trips or a in bay. It has a 360 degrees turn-able engines under each hull. On deck it has a small table for 4 and two crates for storage.
I hope you like it and please feel free to comment.

A Patrol-Torpedo variant of the Amphibious Attack Boat. This variant of the AAB is powered by a pair of gasoline engines, more reliable on the high seas than their more futuristic counterparts. The engines drive a pair of screws at the rear of the boat, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 41 knots. The boat is armed with a pair of 533mm torpedos, as well as a pair of limited traverse machine guns. The boat is also equipped with a single deployable Gunship-Class Light Amphibious Frame. This variant of the Gunship is equipped with composite armor, enhanced propulsion and maneuvering systems, and a quad large bore heavy machine gun mount setup. Boats like these are often used to patrol coasts and claimed waters while based on an Amphibious Transport Dock. The boats can also be converted to hover propulsion to allow for amphibious operations and can be equipped with missiles, on both naval and amphibious variants.
This 16ft catamaran was built in British Columbia Canada and then transported like this all the way to Mexico! IIRC it weighed about 500lbs (200kg+) and overhung the car each side by about a foot.
It's owner researched the rules of this thoroughly before undertaking the trip. His reasons were that it was far cheaper to buy an old car for the one way trip he planned to do rather than buy a car and trailer or have the boat transported and fly there himself. He did actually get stopped by the police in a small town somewhere and was delayed for a while whilst they actually determined that he wasn't breaking any laws.
In Mexico he launched the boat with the help of several strong people and gave the car away. He then subsequently spent several months cruising Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Obviously this isn't my photo, but I thought it might interest some people other than me if only for its visual impact.
A book was written about the trip entitled "Travels with Miss Cindy" by Tony Bigras. I read it some years ago and very much enjoyed it.
I've no idea what the car is (I'd guess at a Chevrolet or Ford) but no doubt many of you will. IIRC it cost about $500 and performed faultlessly
An attempt at making watercraft for Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack terrain. I actually had it built for quite a while before taking pictures, I'm not sure why it took me this long. It is 20' long, 20' wide, and 26' tall in 6P scale. This will take 3 Hits before no longer being Cover and a total of 5 before being destroyed.
