Don't be fooled by this relaxed scene - this kitty is a handful! She's always jumping around, playing and being very active. I just was lucky enough to capture this brief moment of peace.

This cat was neutered 3 months ago. Since then she is hiding in the garage and nobody is able to catch it. I also tried.
Morning sunlight highlights a small forest of cat tails at Humboldt Lagoon State Park, as the last wispy remnants of the morning marine layer dissipates into the atmosphere. The stretch of California coastline between Arcata and the Oregon border is littered with natural scenic wonders. A photographer could spend weeks here and not chronicle its entirety. I myself could drink Canada dry before shooting the half of it.
Update: apparently these are not cattails, but phragmites. Oh well, to me they look like real cat tails so I'll let my title stand.

I've always been amused by the painting series Dogs Playing Poker, by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge. The series of sixteen oil paintings and a 1910 painting were commissioned by Brown & Bigelow to advertise cigars. Having had cats for most of my life I knew cats would never stoop to playing poker but know they much prefer playing chess.
Combine that with my inevitable attraction to the emerging world of AI "art" and you end up with this image which is a creation using Bing AI Image Creator with a bit of Photoshop magic thrown in.
