Misty is a ragdoll cat whose whole existence revolves around food. She was looking longily at some birds when I took this shot!
Lo and Behold! - my cat Mr. Meowzer actually posed for me, and not only posed, but posed in front of my flowering Dogwood tree. Wonders never cease :)
"A cat will do what it wants when it wants, and there's not a thing you can do about it."

One of the several million feral cats on the island of Rhodes, but a pretty one nonetheless! HSS everybody! :)
A cat in greenery is a harmonious combination ... however, cats are always and everywhere harmonious :)
The ancient Egyptians had a special relationship with cats: they were revered as sacred animals; mummified like humans; depicted in sculpture and frescoes. And the very first cat "portrait" was written by the Egyptians.
For a long time it was believed that the Egyptians tamed cats. However, in 2004, a burial site dating back to 9500 BC was discovered in Cyprus. e., in which a cat was found together with a man. A wild beast would hardly have been put in a grave. It turned out that cats lived with people long before they appeared in Egypt. The Middle East began to be considered the birthplace of domestic cats, and Egypt was forgotten for some time. But not for long: in 2008, a burial was opened in southern Egypt, in which six cats were found - a male, a female and four kittens. Although this burial was younger than the Cypriot one (about 6000 years), it became clear that cats were known in Egypt much earlier than was thought until recently.
It is known that the ancestor of the domestic cat was the steppe cat Felis silvestris lybica - it still lives in the steppe, desert and partly mountainous regions of Africa, Western, Central and Central Asia, in Northern India, Transcaucasia and Kazakhstan. In 2007, it was possible to establish that all modern cats descended from him.
Seafarers brought the first cats to Rus' in the pre-Christian era. Exotic animals were a valuable commodity: the cost of a cat until the 15th century was comparable to the value of a healthy arable animal - an ox.
The small village of Phikardou which I first visited in the summer of 1976, population then 3-4 old people. I chanced upon it when I was researching for my thesis on the Vernacular Architecture of Cyprus.
It has now become a must place to visit and even boasts a restaurant serving authentic local dishes. It's good to note that most of the 30 or so houses have since been refurbished even if it's only for weekend visits by owners that work further down in the city.

I felt like processing this old capture of my best friend's cat that she had back then,it's name was Sushi iirc.
The Persian cat is a breed of long-haired cats, one of the oldest and most popular in the world..Now there are about 100 varieties of these cats in color. In the Soviet Union, the first Persian cats appeared only in the late 80s of the last century. They were brought from Europe by diplomats and were very rare..Persian cats can not live outside the house. This is one of the most difficult breeds to care for..Cute animal from the series Seliger cats, a chance meeting on the street of the city of Ostashkov.
I love cats and simply had to create my own breed 😊

Someone feeds the homeless cats before his home, I believe there are 10 to 15 cats. They know what time he is home for feeding time.

This cat comes to visit me - especially at weekends. It then begs to be cuddled, staying around till long after sunset. I have no idea where it comes from, but it is looking too good to be a stray cat.
Several "Local cats" live in the Takashima Suisaisen Park in Minatomirai, Yokohama. They live on the food of their neighbors.
They can't run away when they see people, but they can only be the ones who feed them.
They don't run away when they see strangers, but they aren't touched by anyone but the people who take care of them.
"Local cats" do not have a specific owner like "stray cats", but they differ from "stray cats" in that the local residents officially recognize them and take care of food and medical care.
There is a church next to the park where I walk my dog. This cat has lived there for years. It still doesn't like me or the dog. lol
