First night outing with the D750 and the thing is a monster in the dark! Taken at ISO 6400 without flash by way of a test and although the noise can be seen it is still quite a usable image. Had no issues with autofocus either, just nailed it every time.
Twenty-seven consecutive images taken with a modified Bencini Koroll 24 camera. As the name suggests, this model manages to squeeze 24 exposures out of a roll of 120 film, by using a mask to make the image size 3cm x 4cm. The edges of the film are wasted, but by using the "12 frame" backing paper markings twice, 24 exposures are made.
I removed the mask, so the full width of the film is exposed, and also installed two strips of black plastic in the light path to narrow the image produced on the negatives to around 10mm. By advancing the film by one quarter turn, the images overlap slightly at the beginning of the film, but by the end, when the take up spool is getting fatter, there is a small gap between each image. Expired Fuji Provia 400X film, cross-processed in the Tetenal C41 kit.

USV Reach Remote 1 moored at Castlegate Quay 20pm Tuesday 16th June 2026 Port Of Aberdeen South Harbour, first time I have captured her at the port .
Reach Remote 1 (RR1) is a pioneering, 24-metre Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV) designed by Kongsberg Maritime and operated by Norway's Reach Subsea.
Launched into commercial operation in early 2025, it serves as a highly efficient, unmanned "mothership" for subsea surveying, inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR).
Dimensions: 23.90 metres long by 8.00 metres wide, with a maximum draught of 5.5 metres.
Propulsion: Twin Volvo Penta D13 engines paired with two 350kW Kongsberg Azimuth thrusters.
Speed & Range: Maximum speed of 11 knots with a minimum operational endurance of 30 days.
Subsea Equipment: Built entirely around a moonpool deploying a customized, 100% electric Kystdesign "ZEEROV" Work-Class ROV rated for depths up to 2,000 metres.
Station Keeping: Equipped with Dynamic Positioning (DP2) to safely hold position during delicate subsea actions.
Onshore Control Centres: The vessel operates with zero crew on board.
All navigation and subsea work are directed via satellite by pilots sitting in onshore remote centers managed by Massterly.
Environmental Impact: By scaling down from traditional, massive offshore support ships, Reach Remote 1 achieves a 90% reduction in carbon emissions and significantly lowers operational costs.
Global Regulatory Approvals: The vessel has been fully certified by DNV and the Norwegian Maritime Authority.
It recently secured a landmark Letter of Approval from the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) to perform uncrewed missions in UK territorial waters.
The vessel is in active, stable commercial operation in the North Sea. Major oil and gas operators like Equinor, Shell, and TotalEnergies routinely charter the vessel.
It is currently tackling a series of 2026 campaigns for Equinor—such as gas reservoir monitoring at the Troll field utilizing proprietary gWatch technology and extensive subsea asset inspections.
This is the Carbon power plant which i believe is now no longer working I walked out here from Helper one day I really always liked this old relic for some reason but it is usually too dark to get a photo of it from the Amtrak train...

10/2020 - Castle Gate, UT
The famous Castle Gate rock formation on Soldier Summit. Unfortunately UP did not bless me with any eastbound trains. A traffic accident when I was in this area back in 2016 kept me from making it to the summit (drove in from Salt Lake City), so it was nice to at least see the line and scenery this time.

Grantham, St Wultram's Church.The organ originally by John Harris and John Byfield dates from 1735 and was located in the centre of the church. It was rebuilt by George Pike England in 1809 & 1833, by Forster and Andrews between 1845 and 1868 (when it was moved to its current location), by Norman and Beard in 1906, by Rushworth and Dreaper in 1952, by Cousans of Lincoln in 1972, and by Phillip Wood and Sons of Huddersfield in 1993–94 when a fourth manual was added. It contains 3,294 pipes and has 4 manuals (upgraded from 3 in the 1994 restoration). The case was designed by Sir Walter Tapper during the 1906 restoration. The instrument is regarded as one of the finest in the county.

Aberdeen Daimler CVG6 / Weymann No 108 (DRS 358), new in 1950, at the Castlegate in 1965. This bus was the tenth one re-painted with a cream roof instead of grey, in early 1965.
One of a batch of fifteen Daimler CVG6/Weymann H30/26R buses delivered in 1950. At the time ACT fitted fleet numbers into gaps created by withdrawn vehicles hence the rather messy allocation of fleet numbers 96 - 105, 130, 156 - 159 (DRS 296 - 305, 330, 356 - 359). All were rebuilt and re-seated to H33/27R in 1959/60 when rubber mounted flush fitting windows made for a cleaner appearance. Re-numberings in 1962 saw 130 become 95, and 156 - 159 become 106 - 109. Then in 1966 100 - 104 became 90 - 94 and 105 and 106 - 109 became 85 - 99 (to free up numbers for new Daimler Fleetlines). So at last the batch became 85 - 99, with only 96 - 99 retaining the same numbers throughout their lives. Withdrawals were in 1969 - 1970, with 88 going in the final year.

Centrebus Wright bodied DAF SB200 type number 764 - PJZ 9450 is captured as it descends Castlegate at Castle Bytham whilst working the above Grantham bound service 4 journey. Having originally been delivered new to Kimes of Folkingham in May 2004 with registration FX04 TJY it received cherished plate PJZ 9450 in March 2017. As mentioned previously, a double run is made to/from Castle Bytham where an anti-clockwise circuit is followed to serve the village centre and avoid having to turn the bus. The main bus stop is situated at the top of the steps opposite The Castle PH which is hidden from view by the trees to the right.
Today Saturday 1st September 2018 marks the last day of Centrebus involvement in Monday to Saturday service 4 as operation passes to Transport Connect and becomes Call Connect service 4 from Monday 3rd September. New timetables were on display and it seems the number of journeys remains the same although there appear to be some timing changes.

Grantham, St Wulfram's Parish Church. Following a fire in 1222,it was rebuilt with the spire (the 3rd highest on a parish church in England) and west windows completed in 1300. It was enlarged in 1350, 1480 and 1496. It was restored by Sir George Gilbert Scott (completed 1875) who is responsible for the the woodwork, including the roof and angels. The church is grade 1 listed.

A view of King Street, Aberdeen looking from Castlegate on a very sunny Wednesday 18th May 1977, the spire of the North Church of St Andrew's dominating the skyline. The bus about to make the left turn into Justice Street is Grampian Regional Transport 117 (GRS117E), an Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean that had been new nearly ten years earlier in September 1967.

Grantham House is located on Castlegate in the town, close to St Wulfram's Church. The house was originally built in 1380 and is one of the oldest buildings in Grantham. The house has been remodelled many times over the centuries and today has a grand Georgian facade. The building and gardens are owned and managed by the National Trust.
The stable block sits north of the main house and was built in the 16th century, along with the house it is Grade I listed.

I was privileged enough to be involved in a bit of history this Summer - buses have no been parked on Castlegate for many years.
As part of Silver City Stories, the FirstGroup Heritage Trust were asked to put on a display of buses from past to present at the city's Castlegate, along with an open top tour linking the other venues.
We got great weather and a fantastic turn out from the public. Bonuses for myself were covering a run on the open top tour and driving our Hydrogen VanHool in parade down Union Street on the Sunday evening. A fantastic weekend overall.
