While my wife lazed in the sun on Orient Beach, three miles to the east on the Atlantic side of Saint Martin, I took pictures of Grand Case Beach on the Caribbean side.
She made this tripod cover case out of Justin's old jean. It fits my Gitzo tripod with Markins M10 and pull strap to close. Protects my tripod when I carry around. Now I would definitely call it a recycling in for a good use, don't you think? :-)
Taken on a natural light... wide open. Minor adjustment with curves, vibrance, saturation, USM and resized for the web.

This praying mantis egg case (ootheca) was found within two feet of the praying mantis pic just uploaded. The case reminds me of a toasted marshmallow.

August 1st 2008. The tragedy occurred on the K2 in which 11 climbers were killed has turned the media lights on the Shimshal Valley… but not on it’s people.
Nearly 1 month after that tragic date, no international authority, or climbing association, or specialized media has, in fact, paid homage to the families, to the young wives and little sons of the two local climbers, Jahan Beig e Meherban Karim, killed in the same deadly expedition.
This was the case also with a German climber who died in early august on a track right above Shimshal after deliberately ignoring the advises of the locals who had declared his attempt "suicidal".
A concerned warning comes from the older guides and climbers of this pakistan valley, who are witnessing more and more expeditions,lead by competitive young local guides and foreign team leader, underestimate dangers and disrespect the environment just to claim a peak.
At Brazo's State Park, the lake named Forty Acre Lake isn't recommended for swimming (actually, it is expressly forbidden) due to having to share the water with the American Alligator. Here is an example and case-in-point.
I´m a rookie, did I mention? But I´m so happy about this recycling sewing project. My pillow needed a case, I needed to learn some basic cutting, sewing, pressing, finishing, so this is a great way to learn.
