My mother told us to bring rubber boots to Easter dinner, as we were going to go on a "nature walk" between dinner and dessert. We followed directions, and she took us to Carter Fields, a conservation area that is home to a Great Blue Heron rookery with over 70 active nests.

The name Carter came from Samantha Carter of Stargate SG1. BUT he is a boy, so we went with Carter. I wanted O'Neil.

Todd Carter, member of the 20th TN Infantry.

1840-1864

Todd was mortally wounded at the Battle of Franklin in 1864, on the very land owned by his father at the time.

Carter's first attempt at finger paints. He did this using Crayola's Color Wonder Finger Paints and Paper, fantastic stuff.

Some true yooper hunters bought these cool camo pants for Carter. Funny how a Green Bay Packers shirt is the perfect compliment.

It's always fun when you get to photograph your friends, and Carter is no exception.

He's one of my favorites to shoot because there is never a dull moment.

Whenever he isn't out being a great photog for the local news, he can generally be found at Cafe Crema chilling out.
