Revisited that little church today that is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by fields, so glad I did there was an amazing carpet of snowdrops that filled the whole churchyard.

I ducked within the aspen to try to catch the glow that develops when direct sunlight ricochets from so many quaking yellow leaves and from the carpet of gold on the forest floor.

victoria a spayed garden cat in her bespoke shelter raised off the ground under the patio table :) she's fed daily. victoria is a semi feral cat that's sheltered in my garden since being a kitten. she has become more friendly recently but she's happy in the garden with her friends. she's never too far away

i should have cut off the wilko label! i hadn't noticed it until i viewed the photo. the shelter is an adapted cotton rope laundry basket lined underneath with a few carpet tiles, backed with a rug on what would have been the base and one handle tied on top to one horizontal strut of the patio table. then further infilled with a cushion and a couple of warm shawls. it's safely lifted off the ground using a plastic crate with a couple of carpet tiles on top of the crate

victoria found it, liked it and settled

for many years my garden was a shrubbery flic.kr/p/Lhv9ag which i loved. a picket fence covered in an ivy hedge coming down in a storm meant that over time changes had to happen flic.kr/p/2mn2x8a i'll be glad when the trellis is covered in honeysuckle and jasmine. that's the plan ...

11/52 weeks of 2021: Something I've Never Photographed Before

My entry of week 11: Carpet photo with polaroid edited.

Sure this has been done before, but has anyone done it with such cool hotel room carpet? (PDX Airport Carpet printed by Bricks & Minifigs)

This was actually both super fun, and super uncomfortable to build. I was convinced all my friends would try and figure out which of my past roommates I'd had relations with. As if my love life interests anyone but myself.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last Brazilian president, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, used to live in this house as a kid. His 8 years of government (particularly the last 4) were marked by widespread claims of corruption among his own party and his political allies. Investigations made into allegations were "closed away in drawers" (engavetadas) by the Procurator General, Geraldo Brindeiro, so often that he gained the nickname Engavetador Geral da República ("Filer-Away General of the Republic"). Public companies were sold off for one third of their initially announced values. However, by sweeping everything under the carpet, Fernando Henrique was able to present a clean face to the outside world.

Meanwhile, like the portrait of Dorian Gray, his childhood home slowly decayed....
