Found in the beech and oak woods at the 280 acre Culberson Woods State Nature Preserve in Clinton County in southwest Ohio. One of the largest remnant of a wet beech forest, white swamp forest, that once covered the flatlands of south west Ohio. A 3 mile loop trail circles within the preserve. The fungus starts by being grayish white and soon turns black. Often mistaken for burned wood. These are about the size of a softball..

Here's a shot of my buddies tone arm. Tis a thing of beauty! I am really loving the heck out of my 105mm. It takes a real descent photo and can be used for oh so much... In my opinion that is. lol.

Had to re-position for quite a while before finding the composition of rocks that I liked. Had to stand guard over the camera because tide was unusually high for this time of the evening.

This is the site of Ski Villa Carbon Canyon, the first and only year round ski resort in the United States. Ski Villa Carbon Canyon opened in 1966 and used interlocking plastic mats instead of snow. The mats were a bit like Astroturf that you could ski on and the skiers would slide the skis across pads of silicone before going down to help with the friction.

Perennial mushroom that grow on dead hardwoods forming hard globe like forms. Each reproductive growth cycle creates a inner section that when exposed resembles tree rings.

Found this carbon wrapped Ferrari California after a tip when I got off the bus at the end of this afternoon.
In front of it stood a Porsche Panamera and a few places further stood a Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT-S.
