Bilingual sign in Welsh and English for the beach.
Porth Neigwl, also known in English as "Hell's Mouth", is a broad bay, about 3 miles wide, on the south coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. The bay faces south-west and lies between the headlands of Mynydd Rhiw to the west and Mynydd Cilan to the east.
Using blunt pencils annoys me, but I don’t want to keep sharpening them. So, the perfect solution is a mechanical pencil with a fine lead that’s always sharp. HMM💎

This wonderful spot is unmarked but very near the Carbon River entrance to Rainier. There is a terrific spot for a picnic to the left of this totally in the shade.
I took a dozen shots of this place and never felt that I got the scene so to the shelf they went. Go find this place for yourself, as cool as this shot is, it doesn't do it justice.
The map marker is a rough guess, there is a small bridge over this stream so it should be easyish to find.
please push 'L' ..... :-)
I went to the Carbon River Entrance to the Mt Rainier National Park, and found lovely hues in the Carbon River. This entrance to the park used to be connected to the Paradise side by road, but washouts cause the road to no longer exist these days. There is a trail that starts here still and goes to the other side of the park.
It was a fun one and easy one to shoot with the Hoya HD3 polarizer in place. The bridge was vibrating though, so the image was not quite sharp. Topaz Sharpen AI, in motion blur mode, sharpened it up pretty good though.
Thank you for your warm and kind visits everyone, you are very much appreciated. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, and Happy Holidays to all! 💙

These were at the bottom of the Nature Trail by the signpost.
There are several carvings and sculptures that can be seen on the two pathways to the two lakes.
Coedydd Maentwrog, on the north side of the Vale of Ffestiniog, is the largest wood in the Vale. The national nature reserve consists of two separate sections: Coed Llyn Mair, and a group of three forests.
A pencil lead consists of a part graphite and a part clay. The hardness of a pencil is determined by the composition of these components. Pencils with a lot of clay and little graphite have a higher hardness than pencils with little clay and a lot of graphite.
Pencils have codes that indicate the hardness. HB is an average office pencil. 9H is very hard (a lot of clay and little graphite) and 9B is very soft (a lot of graphite and little clay).
Pencils with a high degree of hardness are extremely suitable for very fine drawing, with thin lines such as technical drawing. The softer pencils are especially popular among artists for sketching, for example for creating shadows and dark areas.

For once, the machines are put to work especially for the Oyfo photography students. An industrial hanging lamp was also turned on, an unimaginable amount of light

OK, not sure I’m feeling my other shot, maybe a case over concept over style so I’ve re shot after raiding a very old bag of BBQ charcoal.

The lighthouse on Cape Carbon was built in 1907, and at 220m above sea level is the highest natural lighthouse in the world.
The corner of a lump of coal. This was given to my daughter as a Christmas gift by my wife's Uncle. He was the family prankster. The man lived and breathed practical jokes. When my daughter opened the impeccably wrapped gift to find this lump she just yelled "Ahhhhh BOB!!!" We then spent the rest of the day periodically giving out an involuntary chuckle, shaking our heads and saying "That Bob". Notably he also gave her, on succeeding holidays, a gift wrapped worn out generator from his John Deere tractor and a gift wrapped pair of dirty worn out work boots. He is sadly gone now but any time his name comes up the extravagance of his gifts is talked about at length. I used my 75mm template to frame this shot. HMM and thanks for any views, faves and comments.
