Here's a screen capture from the new chromedecay YouTube video demonstrating a technique for using Ableton Live's Impulse drum machine to program melodic or pad sounds in a more chopped-up way.

This track is called "efficient movement", and is part of the chromedecay release by Bill Van Loo called "Ypsilanti By Night".

I may have missed the focus, but I didn't miss the moment. 🙏 This was taken with my Rokinon 14mm 2.8, which doesn't talk to my camera at all (fully manual). It's fun because the viewfinder/screen isn't accurately shown, and I can't determine focus other than using the manual control on the lens itself- and looking through the viewfinder (without the glowing AF points!) You can't zoom digitally to check, and absolutely no autofocus/af point readings whatsoever. I get so excited when I nail the focus (you'll see an example later this week!) I didn't get a chance to talk to the pilot, but this appeared to be a P-51 Mustang (D?) in Nazi markings. The Germans had captured and flown a few; presumably this is modeled after one of those.

Blogged select captures by Vasu..

I am obsessed about capturing every space that I am in. Also I do capture performances or spaces on request for a project. I upload the best of the captures on to FLICKR. From these I select a few to write my blogs about the experience, introspection, learning etc. I also use for executing projects in education, performing arts etc.

I create an annual calendar as a tribute to Indian dance and music
