as you probably already know, i don't have my camera. it needs to be fixed and it should take a month. it's been one week already and i miss taking pictures so much. today, as i was going from school, the sun was shining. after extremely long time. the sun showed it's face i barely remembered and it made me happy. first thought was-i wish i had my camera. and it made me sad that i didn't have it.
why should not having my camera make me sad? i still see what i see. and it should still make me happy. i realized i take pictures because i want to share them. that's also good, but i don't always take them for myself, i think of sharing it first. i feel like if i don't share a moment, it's meaningless. i don't want to. i want to experience it, without capturing it, without sharing it.
so this month, is for myself. i won't be sharing. i share so much sometimes. i won't take pictures of moments, of feelings. i will experience it, i will feel it, i will live it. and for once, i will keep the memory only in my heart, not in a picture, not in a blog post, not in sharing. it will be fully mine.
some moments just can't be captured, or shared, or said. it has to stay unknown to everyone, but the one whom it belongs to. this month belongs to me and my heart. sharing everything with Him, in different ways than photography this time.

also, i have photoshop. and i have no idea how to use it, i seriously suck. i hope to get better. picnik was so easy to use and i had my way of editing. it's hard to get used to something new, but i hope to fall in love with it soon. if you have any tips, i'd be happy to hear them.

Well here I am, hard at work and loving every minute of it. If I'm going to have my photograph taken, this is how I like it best, my back to the camera! LOL... I think my daughter captured this scene when I was deep in thought! :)

Sometimes I like to jazz-up a pic purely to make it somewhat different to the norm. Roses are always beautiful 'au naturelle' but I liked the impact of the colourful effect on this one.
My go to post processing is usually done with Paintshop Pro , but I used 'Smart Photo Editor' for this pic. They have hundreds of instant artistic effects to choose from, which themselves can be altered/ adjusted to your own taste. They are effects that have been submitted by the site's users. It's great fun and gets the creative juices flowing.
An American Crow takes off from high atop the pine tree, and I was fortunate enough to capture him in flight as he did.
Photography in all its forms .. more images are captured today with cell phones it seems .

When I saw this guy aiming at the setting sun I hoped I would get a "starburst" if I positioned myself correctly, and voila! He moved his arm a few times and it finally worked. f/18 and ISO 400.
Captured at the Valley of Fire State Park, about 45minutes from Vegas. These guys can apparently jump about 20 feet. You can see the big flat rock they are using as a spring board to leap across this valley.

One minute after the chase scene in my previous image, the two young cheetahs captured their prey. This was a learning experience for them, and their mother did not interfere.
The two young cheetahs were not very experienced in the art of the kill. Once they caught the impala, they did not really know how to deal the death blow. Usually, large cats go for the throat right away in a pursuit, but cheetahs do not do this. Instead, they will first run up to the animal and knock it over; then, they will suffocate their prey by clamping down on the throat. The young cheetahs tried several times to knock the hind legs out from under the impala before it was caught.
Once a cheetah has subdued the prey, it may begin eating it before it is dead. This is to reduce the chances of a scavenger, such as a hyena, or a larger big cat like a lion coming along and robbing the cheetah of the prize it worked so hard to win.

Was out in the garden with one of my wee hearts and as i passed this spiders web, I wondered if the heart would get stuck in the web...and it did. Although the spider was none too pleased, more of which later on.

The Horsehead Nebula, captured from GrandMesaObservatory.com in Purdy Mesa, Western Colorado using the Holloway Takahashi 130 FSQ and QHY367C Full Frame CMOS camera.
I acquired the data in Color + H-Alpha, OIII and SII over 4 nights, processed here are versions in RGB, HaRGB with Ha mapped to red channel and also used as Luminance layer, H-Alpha only and finally a Hubble Palette version with SII, Ha and OIII data mapped respectively to the R, G and B channels to create a Hubble Palette (SHO) rendering.
Total Integration time 20.5 hours

Less than one hundred light years from the Orion Nebula lies the aptly named Horsehead Nebula, another outcropping of the Orion Molecular Cloud and one of the most recognizable assemblies in the heavens. Whereas the Orion Nebula generates enough light to be visible to the unaided eye, the Horsehead has a far lower surface brightness and presents a challenge to visual observers even with large telescopes. But it’s a delight for astrophotographers and arm chair stargazers.
The Horsehead complex lies just south of the brilliant blue supergiant star Alnitak, the easternmost star in Orion’s Belt and just north of the Orion Nebula. The glowing reddish-pink region in the background is cataloged by astronomers as IC 434. Like the Orion Nebula, IC 434 is an emission nebula. It’s powered by the blazing-hot star Sigma Orionis, just south of Alnitak. Much of the nebula is permeated by tenuous streaks caused by magnetic fields in the region. The Nigella (Love-in-a-mist) have been very prolific this year. This flower bud was taken in the middle of a Nigella forest on the drive of my daughter’s home.
They’re a really odd plant to look at, with spiky leaves and strange flowers, and even stranger seedheads. Very alien.
This was cooked, monochromed and blue-toned using Silver Efex. Before that, though, it had a fair bit of prestidigitation in Viveza and Color Efex, and it was finished off with Topaz DeNoise. In other words I was having too much fun playing. I hope you like the result, though, a heart in a cage.
