The Kosciusko County Courthouse in the afternoon sun on a spring afternoon. We made a quick visit here while in the area earlier this month. I love seeing the architecture in these old courhouses - it must have required quite an investment from the county when it was built and I'm sure it was and is a source of comminity pride.
Capture taken on day 3 of previous NYC visit. The day started again early and I did use a taxi to get to Grand Central to take a few capture there. The plan afterwards was to move to Tudor bridge. Too bad, there was just construction works so I could not get on that bridge...so I went further to get to this place. Was a bit late for more blue in the sky, but now overall happy with this edit. This panorama consists of three horizontal format images panned horizontally, processed in Capture One and stitched together in Photoshop.
This is a record shot of the rarely seen opened wings of a female Clouded Yellow Butterfly (Colias croceus). They never seem to settle with their wings open so I was pleased to capture this shot in flight. Not the sharpest of images I know, but chuffed that I had accidentally managed to capture it.

Last Wednesday's sunrise at Derwent water will probably go down as one of my all time favourites, with light mist and frost turning the landscape into a magical scene.
When I first arrived near Friars crag I was the only one, by the time I took this there were around 10 of us trying to capture the scene without each other in it, although I thought this view with a tog in it looked fab.
I went out with a mission, I wanted to capture the light
I went up stream
And down stream
In to my forest
And out again
Happy clicking away
Wow
The passion
It's this urge, it kind of boils inside me
How happy you feel when you see what is unfolding in front of you
How happy you are to be out hiking
Using your body and mind in the best way ever
That's joy, the ultimate joy, instant joy, no fake
I find light in different ways, either it's inner light or out in nature, hiking or together with certain people.
There are some precious people out there. Spending your time with this kind of people you may actually feel that there has been switched on an inner extra light within you when you stay in their sphere.
You get recharged
That is also a kind of light

Royal Scot Class 4-6-0 46115 'Scots Guardsman' stands at Newcastle Central with West Coast Railway Company's steam excursion from York to Edinburgh (1Z78).
It was nice to see the drama of the event appealed to folk across the ages!
For the lucky passengers, the journey from here to Edinburgh was a leisurely one taking just over 4 hours - plenty of time to allow the fine dining to digest before a bit of sight-seeing around the hilly Auld Toun!
Steam locos don't feature too often on this stream but, being up in Newcastle for a few days, it seemed like too good an opportunity to miss. Looks best full-screen.

A re-visit of an image taken on our Tasmania holiday. This was captured on our drive to Cradle Mountain. The weather was constantly changing and a burst of light lit up the foregound mountain as the more ominous weather that was encroaching provided the atmosphere and mood for this image.

I love light, I love Autumn, I tried to capture it in this image. The colours of this season are so beautiful.

This wet feather was sitting on a fence in the Lyde Garden that I was walking in. I liked the colour contrasts, the water drops, and the way that part of it was draped over the edge.
