I didn't get a chance to talk to the pilot, but this appeared to be a P-51 Mustang (D?) in Nazi markings. The Germans had captured and flown a few; presumably this is modeled after one of those.

This guy is hiding some of its facial features that are diagnostic for the specie if clearly visible. He has a white face, and the eyes are light turquoise. These markings are used to distinguish it from a resident lookalike cousin: Western Pondhawk. The huge turquoise eyes are clearly visible in this view, however. Looks like this guy has had some brushes with spider webs... such can capture even the larger odonates.

The Grateful Dead core four members - along with Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti - came together for a final set of three shows at Soldier Field in Chicago in order to say "Fare Thee Well" to their fans after more than 50 years.

The version I posted originally was an HDR made from 9 different exposures in PS. This new version is just one of the exposures processed in Capture NX and with the Topaz Adjust filter applied and finished in PS. I think it's much better, which is great because it means I can stop doing HDR processing on 80%-90% of my pictures. Capture NX seems like it's going to be a big time saver for me, and produce nicer pictures (I can't overemphasize the coolness of the Topaz filter either). I'm still learning Capture though.
