Yesterday just seemed like one of those days when there were lots of packages
arriving on my doorstep. As I went through the boxes, I decided to take some of the
enclosed packing materials and stitch it all together in a multi layered ATC: vinyl & zipper (Pottery Barn) , brown kraft paper ( MisterArt) , string/wire ( local nursery).
Lookie, I captured a live amphibious reptile, and it was in my garden, and it's all fat and gross, but I like it, but it doesn't like me. I let it go, after i kissed it to see if it would make me into prince, but I am not wearing a blouse yet so I think it didn't work.

For me photography is not just about catching what you can see, equally important is catching the mood, I hope that this has the essence of a wonderfully tranquil morning.

This is my Percy Jackson scene. I made the fight with Clarisse during Percy's first capture the flag game. Percy Jackson is my absolute favorite book series ever. I've wanted to make a whole camp half blood for a while. Who knows, maybe some day.
Ar Ramadi, Iraq, August 20, 2003 -- The Florida Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 124th Infantry, along with the regiment’s second and third battalions, was mobilized in January 2003 for service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following thirty-eight days of post mobilization training at Fort Stewart, GA, the unit deployed to Jordan where it initially served as the security force at Prince Hassan Air Base, a forward operating base for U.S. Special Operations Forces and A-10 aircraft of the United States Air Force.
In late April 2003, the battalion was attached to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and deployed into Iraq by air and ground assault convoy. After consolidation at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, it moved to Ar Ramadi, the provincial capital of Al Anbar Province, where it was assigned an area of operation consisting of approximately 2,400 square kilometers and more than 350,000 Sunni Iraqi inhabitants.
While there, they provided local security and assisted in the reestablishment of the Iraqi Police and Ministerial Guard forces. The unit also conducted cordon and search operations. During one of these sweeps through the outskirts of Ar Ramadi on August 20, 2003, members of the 1-124 Infantry captured Salem Musa Ijly. Also known as Abu Inas, Ijly was a Jordanian national and member of al-Qaida, who was facilitating weapons smuggling through Iraq into Jordan and maintaining weapons stockpiles in Ar Ramadi. He was also linked to a plot to assassinate Jordanian King Hussein.
During its deployment, the battalion captured 511 enemy combatants; recovered 2,399 small arms, 221 mortar tubes, 4,258 mortar round and 43 RPG launchers; captured, defused or engaged 715 improvised explosive devices; processed 7,422 detainees; and, disbursed more than $1.3 million in aid for repair or construction of numerous buildings, to include two hospitals, 67 schools and 52 mosques.
The 1-124 Infantry received the Valorous Unit Award for extraordinary heroism in operations. Soldiers of the unit were presented 65 Bronze Stars (two with “V” device), 379 Army Commendation Medals (13 with “V” device), and 63 Purple Hearts. Despite serving 291 continuous days in combat operations, the unit brought home every Soldier who deployed with it.

"Rescued" is probably a better word than "captured" here. This critter had found its way into a deep basement window well and would have been unlikely to be able to hop its way out. It was released a moment after I took the picture.
A train runs on the magnetic levitation line in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province, May 6, 2016. A trial operation of China's first domestically designed and manufactured magnetic levitation line started in Changsha on Friday. The maglev shuttles between Changsha's south railway station and the airport. It takes about ten minutes to complete the 18.55-km journey, according to a statement from operator Hunan Maglev Transport Co. The 48-meter-long train can carry 363 people in three carriages. It can achieve a maximum speed of 100 km per hour.
The first Chinese middle-to-low speed magnetically levitated (maglev) rail line began operating on Friday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province.
The maglev shuttles between Changsha's south railway station and the airport, with one stop in between. It takes 19 minutes and 30 seconds to complete the 18.55-km journey, according to a statement from operator Hunan Maglev Transport Co.
The train can carry 363 people at a maximum speed of 100 km per hour. The price of a one-way ticket is 20 yuan (about 3 U.S.dollars). Soon, airline passengers will be able to check in and deposit their bags at a new terminal in the railway station.
Construction of the maglev trains, designed and manufactured by CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. in Hunan Province, began in May 2014 with a total investment of 4.29 billion yuan.
Middle-to-low speed trains produce very little noise and occupy much less land than subways, according to CRRC representative Peng Qibiao.
The line costs between 150 million yuan and 250 million yuan per kilometer, making it highly economical compared to subways and light rail, which cost up to 800 million yuan and 300 million yuan per km respectively.
"The environmentally friendly maglev not only diversifies city transportation, but also creates a more harmonious relationship between cities and the environment," Peng said.
