This capture is a stolen shot in the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, when I was visiting Japan beginning April 2014 for Cherry Blossom season.

The Japanese lady waiting for the ned train is wearing a traditional suit "Kimono" and a mask. I took this opportunity to get her as my static foreground when the train enter in the station. I shot with a slow shutter speed allowing to get the train in movement but not too slow to get the lady sharp. By chance, the door of the train is captured in the frame of the picture. At last, I got the perfect contrast between tradition / static / monochrome / verticality on one side and modernity / movement / colors / horizontality on the other side. It comes to be a picturesque scenery representing in some ways Japan by itself.

Previously unpublished archive shot from February 2014 and captured with my old Canon 400D early in my Street photography journey.

I love the eye contact in this one and want to wish Flickr a very Happy 20th Anniversary. There are some awesome images in the Explore Take-over today including one from an old street photographer friend here on Flickr who passed away a few years ago. He would have been thrilled to get an Explore on such an occasion.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend of photography my Flickr friends. Stay safe, keep the shutters clicking and keep sharing your wonderful photographs. Enjoy.

The nature reserve is very popular among photographers, especially at this time of year. Most of them seem to be more patient than I am. I saw this guy when I arrived in the morning and when I came by the same spot about one hour later he was still there. I'm still wondering what he was waiting for. The perfect light, a duck in the perfect position .... ?

No use of filters in this shot, just f/16 with 3 bracketed exposures, nothing i like better is to come down to this wonderful place as the tide was coming in, i know i have shot this loads of times but i'm just capturing an image with some nice movement, the light was also fading fast hence the under exposed shot at f/16 was about 4 seconds, giving that foreground just enough movement, i think the same shot taken with 1 normal exposure would not give you the same effect, it really is worth while practicing these type of seascape images, you never know what you might achieve

Definitely unlike where we have just returned home from, which was near Skegness on the Lincolnshire Coast.

But hey, we walked the beach every day twice a day slowly it must be said. The sea was the North Sea and brown unlike the blue of the Atlantic Ocean but there were waves and that mesmerising movement of waves lapping and on occasion surging in with some big waves hitting the shore. All in all (apart from the worst WIFI signal on that part of the coast it felt very restorative. Cornwall it is NOT though but we still enjoyed our break and re the PVCs I am no worse or better than before we went and my camera as usual was capturing the moments but they look nothing like these lol..Sue :)

We have had a lot of cloudy & rainy days in Pittsburgh, I got going early to take advantage of the sky this morning.
