they put mirrors in the cages to make the flamingos believe they are in bigger groups, which makes them feel safer.

i find it hard to believe they are so easily fooled.

this picture bums me out a lot because i didn't notice until much later that she has a chain around her ankle

watcha looking at? These guys are supposed to be tasty :-)

It is a broken window which looks like a figure of a woman. I took this picture on street in an afternoon.

I'm really excited for a fresh start!

A concept I came up with a few days ago. Enjoy!

i went to the local zoo with my english class this past week. the class is a writing seminar about human-animal interaction, so we read a few articles about zoos and then visited and spoke with the director. i saw this guy looking really sad in the corner of the cage so i stopped to watch him for a while. for a majority of the time i stood there, he was doing this- playing with the lock, getting frustrated, obviously trying to escape. he even climbed to the very top at one point and stuck his arm out of the ceiling. i was taking pictures and at one point he yelled and spit at me. he knows exactly whats going on.

While visiting the Kolmården Zoo and walking past the Great Apes I spotted this really sad looking female.

After grabbing this shot I walked around the enclosure and found the information tablet. Turns out this is 'Iris' who was born free but captured in Cameroon in the 80's and has since been kept in different zoos...

Now I understand why she looks so depressed. :(

I'll never be sure if this scene found in the FAH building at USF was an art project or just an accident.

these are the photos of my project called captivity about animals life in behind bars in the zoos

Of all the animals I saw last Friday at the zoo, this ostrich and its mate were the most ill-cared for. They were locked in a small patch of extremely wet soil with almost no food or water. When I saw them, the temperature around us was aprox. 100 degrees Fahrenheit! These are the things that really piss me off when I go to the zoo. It is quite nice to be able to photograph animals that otherwise I'd have to visit in Africa but there's always something wrong... I just hope they put our entry toll to good use!

Today was a fine day to try my luck some more on 'wild animals'.

I love this one for the 'darkness'.

Possible explanations:

1. The Soviets actually HAD flying cars, but they could only fly one meter off the ground.

2. Sure don't want these things breeding

3. Endangered species

Any more ideas?

If you look at this in a larger size, you can see that the last inspection sticker for the green one was 2008. The sticker means it passed... right?!
