Alan Middleton worked at the plant in the Engineering and Planning section from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s. Together with John Houghton, he purchased one of the works’ saddle tank locos and went on to become the Chief Mechanical Engineer at the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Now past 80 years old, (December 2020) Alan is still very much hands-on with the Furness Railway Trust maintaining and restoring the Trust’s locos.

Saturday was a much-needed lazy day. The deer have been visiting frequently so I went out with some deer nutrition and bonded with them. They are getting bolder in how close they come. I love this picture… her tongue is slightly out and she’s looking at me like I’m crazy. How would you caption this photo?
I need help with a caption here. What's the penguin (seen on Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, South Africa) saying? I was thinking something like -
"Hey Allen, have you seen Steve? He's dancing on the beach again."
I am sure you can do better. So what's the penguin saying?

I'm not sure whether she is an indian but she is wearing the traditional dress of the Araucanian Mapuche. (Usually worn with a poncho, as seen in the previous photograph)

First attempt at motion photography with birds in flight. Impressed by how it has turned out especially with the bird physically looking at the camera. :D
