Croissants have become a beloved staple in many cultures, and their popularity can be attributed to their unique, buttery flakiness and versatile nature. Originating from Austria as the kipferl, the croissant's journey to fame began in France, where it was embraced and transformed into the delicate, layered pastry we know today. The meticulous process of creating the perfect croissant, which involves laminating the dough with butter and folding it multiple times to achieve those irresistible layers, has been perfected over time. This has led to the croissant not only being a go-to choice for a luxurious breakfast but also a symbol of culinary artistry. Its adaptability to various fillings and flavors, from the classic chocolate to savory ham and cheese, ensures that there's a croissant for every palate. The croissant's rise to popularity was also influenced by its association with the French "art de vivre," a lifestyle that celebrates the finer things in life, including high-quality, artisanal food. As a result, the croissant has become more than just a pastry; it's a small indulgence, a moment of pleasure, and a culinary icon recognized and enjoyed worldwide.

2023 - My final film that i produced, directed, filmed and edited for my A-Level film studies course. I wanted to explore loss, separation and missing pieces. There was zero budget and i was only able to use an iPhone, CapCut for editing plus three friends. I have always been interested in film as an art media; I used to come home from primary school and make music videos on VideoStar. For a future project I’m interested in utilizing film and visual effects to depict my garments in new, fun ways.

In Germany, the pumpkin season heralds a time of vibrant festivals and culinary delights, typically running from September to November. This period is marked by the celebrated Ludwigsburg Pumpkin Festival, the world's largest of its kind, where pumpkins are not just a vegetable but a centerpiece of cultural festivities. Here, pumpkins are transformed into art, with sculptures and displays showcasing the versatility and beauty of this autumnal produce. The popularity of pumpkins in Germany can be attributed to their rich variety and the role they play in culinary traditions, especially during the fall. From hearty soups to sweet pies, the pumpkin's adaptability in dishes makes it a favorite. Moreover, the influence of American culture, particularly the festive spirit of Halloween, has cemented the pumpkin's status in German society. It's a symbol of the season, representing both the harvest and the whimsical charm of autumn celebrations.
The sculpture "Auseinandersetzung (Dispute)" by Karl-Henning Seemann is a thought-provoking work that deals with the conflict between the generations. Created in 1977/78, it consists of two life-size bronze figures:
1. A young representative of the '68 generation.
2. An older gentleman with the beginnings of a paunch.
These two figures are positioned in an apparent dispute, symbolizing the tensions and disagreements between different generations. The sculpture is located at the corner of Mittelstrasse and Grabenstrasse in the Old Town, where it invites interaction from passersby.
People often walk around the figures, changing their point of view and even making eye contact with their counterparts. Diplomatic art lovers sometimes intervene to mediate and reconcile between the conflicting figures. The opportunity for interaction makes this sculpture a dynamic and engaging part of the urban environment.

The sculpture "Valuas en Guntrud" (also called "Flujas en Guntrud") by Hay Mansvelders is not a single work, but rather a series of sculptures depicting the legendary couple Valuas and Guntrud.
Here's what we know about them:
Origin: Venlo, Netherlands-based artist Hay Mansvelders created them in 1999.
Inspiration: The figures represent Valuas (also known as Flujas), a reputed leader of the Bructeri tribe who settled in the area around the year 100 AD, and his wife, Guntrud. Legend has it that Valuas founded the city of Venlo.
Representation: The original sculptures are probably life-size figures depicting Valuas and Guntrud. There are also 250 miniature versions made by the Mansvelders.
Material: The exact materials are not known, but news articles suggest that they are sculpted figures, possibly in bronze or another durable material.
It's important to note that the story of Valuas and Guntrud is not historically proven, and the sculptures are considered artistic interpretations of the legend.

Born in Wismar in 1934, Seemann's artistic journey was marked by his studies at various prestigious institutions and his eventual professorship at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. His works often reflect a deep engagement with the human condition, and 'A woman putting on a shoe,' created in 1981, is no exception. This sculpture, like many of his creations, is imbued with a sense of movement and life, capturing a mundane moment with extraordinary grace and attention to detail. Seemann's legacy includes a diverse range of sculptures that continue to inspire and provoke thought among viewers, long after his passing in January 2023.

Spring weather is essentially the atmospheric equivalent of a high-stakes tug-of-war. As the Northern Hemisphere tilts back toward the sun, the lingering, dense cold air from the poles begins to retreat, while warm, moist air from the tropics starts its aggressive push northward. These two drastically different air masses don't just merge peacefully; they collide. This intersection creates a "battleground" where rapid pressure changes and sharp temperature gradients trigger everything from sudden rain squalls to late-season snowstorms.
Much of this seasonal chaos is orchestrated by the jet stream, a high-altitude ribbon of fast-moving air. During the transition from winter to summer, the temperature difference between the equator and the poles remains sharp, which keeps the jet stream powerful yet highly erratic. It tends to "wobble" or meander more during the spring, dragging storm systems across the continent like a whip. One afternoon you might be sitting in a "ridge" of warm, stable air, only for the jet stream to dip overnight, plunging your zip code into a "trough" of arctic-tinged wind and rain.
Finally, we have to account for the "bottom-up" heating of the Earth. While the upper atmosphere often remains quite chilly from winter's leftovers, the strengthening sun begins to rapidly warm the ground. This creates significant atmospheric instability: warm air near the surface wants to rise, but because the air above it is still so cold, that air ascends violently. This convection is why spring is famous for "sun showers" and rapid-fire thunderstorms that seem to appear out of nowhere, even when the morning started with perfectly clear blue skies.

Day 2 of Big Ears Festival I rode my AiPAS Ebike down to the Volunteer HQ at Hyatt Place. I picked up my Friday meal voucher. I left my Ebike on Gay St (so it would be close when I came out of the Tennessee Theatre later in the day). Then I popped into Marble City Markets and got a Gyro sandwich from Yassin's Falafel House.
I worked my 2nd volunteer shift at The Greyhound. Performances I saw during my shift, were: Tomas Fujiwara - Dream Up and Dave Harrington & Mary Lattimore.
After my shift, I popped into The Mill & Mine to catch some of Jeff Parker Expansion Trio. Then the next show I attended was Pan•American at The Black Box. Afterwards, I made my way up to the Tennessee Theatre for Caroline Shaw & So Percussion ft. Ringdown. Then I rode home and rested up for the Dirty Three show at the Tennessee Theatre. That was the end of the night for me.

Karl Arnold, born on March 21, 1901, in Herrlishöfen, Germany, was a significant political figure in post-war Germany. He served as the Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1947 until 1956, playing a pivotal role in the region's reconstruction and development after World War II. Arnold's political career began with his involvement in the Christian workers' movement and later as a co-founder of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Düsseldorf in 1945. His leadership extended to the national level when he became the first President of the Bundesrat, the representation of the German states at the federal level, in 1949. Arnold's contributions to German politics were marked by his commitment to Christian socialism and his efforts to establish a cooperative relationship between workers' unions and industries, particularly in the steel and coal sectors. His tenure saw the foundation of the North Rhine-Westphalian broadcasting system, which is known today as Westdeutscher Rundfunk. Arnold's legacy continued beyond his passing on June 29, 1958, influencing German politics and social policies for years to come.
Located in the historic port city of Enkhuizen, the "Zuiderzeemuseum" is a Dutch cultural institution dedicated to preserving the history, craft, and daily life of the region surrounding the former Zuiderzee (Southern Sea). Before the completion of the Afsluitdijk enclosure dam in 1932 turned the salty bay into the freshwater IJsselmeer, the communities along these shores shared a distinct maritime identity built on fishing, trade, and constant negotiation with the sea. The museum captures this lost way of life, offering a vivid window into the maritime history of the Netherlands.
The museum's main highlight is its sprawling Outdoor Museum (Buitenmuseum), a recreated 19th-century village spanning over five hectares. More than 140 authentic historic structures - including fishermen’s cottages, a church, a fish-smoking house, a windmill, and traditional workshops - were carefully disassembled from communities around the former sea and rebuilt on-site. As visitors stroll down cobblestone lanes and along canal paths, costumed interpreters bring the village to life by demonstrating age-old trades such as rope making, coopering, sailmaking, and fish curing.
Complementing the outdoor village is the Indoor Museum (Binnenmuseum), housed in a complex of 17th-century East India Company warehouses along the Enkhuizen harbor. This side of the museum hosts thematic exhibitions that explore the art, fashion, and social history of the region, connecting historical heritage with modern Dutch design. A central attraction here is the Ships' Hall, which displays an extensive collection of restored wooden boats and traditional sailing vessels that once navigated the Zuiderzee's shallow waters.
Visiting the museum is designed as an immersive journey from the start, often beginning with a scenic ferry ride across the IJsselmeer from the main entrance to the museum docks. By blending hands-on heritage demonstrations, living history, and interactive displays for all ages, the Zuiderzeemuseum stands as one of the Netherlands' premier open-air cultural destinations, keeping the memory and traditions of the Zuiderzee alive.

Day 4 of Big Ears Festival 2026. I rode my AiPAS Ebike down to work a morning volunteer shift at The Greyhound. I got to experience some of the six hour performance of Lou Reed Drones. And one of my Venue Captains, Jamie Parkey and I went out on two field trips. We saw some of the Blind Boys of Alabama at The Mill & Mine. And went over to Barleys and saw some of Deantoni Parks' Technoself set.
I went home and rested up for my last shift at The Mill & Mine. I got to see the last half of Alan Sparhawk with Trampled by Turtles set. It was the closing show of Big Ears this year. Then I went home and chilled, before going to sleep (recovering from four days of the music festival ).

Different Anime's edit
This is an edit which composes different anime into one single edit. The idea which sparked inspiration for this edit is my love of the genre, therefore hope it would be portrayed in this edit. I used CapCut editing app to produce this and used a range of different techniques. The first technique I used was research, I had to go research the anime to find the selected scene which I wanted to use, then proceeded to select them in the order of which I wanted to use them in. After i used a original soundtrack from CapCut and added different sound in different aspects of the video to create more emphasis when dramatization was needed. Upon further analysis I realised that more emphasis was needed in the fighting and shouting sequences, therefore I extracted the original sound from the anime. I also add in some basic fighting noises to create a realistic fight. For the final touches I added some transitions to make the final outcome more smooth and less harsh to fit into my ideal edit. If I were to recreate this edit again I would first off use a different editing software like Premiere Rush as it would allow for more of a advanced editing style.

The Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is one of the most striking and easily identifiable birds native to eastern North America. Distinguished by their vibrant blue plumage, white chest, and a prominent crest on their heads, these birds are a visual staple in backyards and woodlands alike. Interestingly, the blue pigment in their feathers is an illusion; it is actually a structural color caused by the way light scatters through modified cells on the feather surface. If you were to crush a Blue Jay feather, the blue would disappear, leaving only brown. Their expressive crest is a mood indicator: it stands tall when the bird is agitated or excited and lays flat when they are calm or feeding among other Jays.
Beyond their beauty, Blue Jays are highly intelligent and socially complex. They are members of the corvid family, which includes crows and ravens, and share that family's reputation for problem-solving and memory. They are also talented vocalists capable of making a wide variety of sounds. While their signature jay-jay call is well known, they are also excellent mimics. Blue Jays are frequently heard mimicking the scream of a Red-shouldered Hawk, a clever tactic used to clear competitors away from a food source or to warn other Jays of a predator's presence.
Ecologically, the Blue Jay plays a crucial role as an accidental forester. Their diet is omnivorous, consisting of insects, nuts, and seeds, but they have a specific fondness for acorns. In a behavior known as "caching," a single Jay can hide thousands of acorns in the ground to eat later during the winter. Because they often forget where they buried a portion of their stash, these lost acorns eventually germinate. This process has been credited with helping the rapid expansion of oak forests across North America after the last glacial period.
Despite their reputation for being boisterous and sometimes aggressive at bird feeders, Blue Jays are devoted family members. They form monogamous pairs that often mate for life, and both parents share the responsibilities of building the nest and caring for their young. Their bold personality and adaptability allow them to thrive in human-populated areas, making them a year-round fixture in many parks and neighborhoods. Whether viewed as a noisy nuisance or a beautiful backyard visitor, the Blue Jay remains a resilient symbol of the North American woodlands.

DO NOT REUP ANYWHERE!
Day 1 of Big Ears Festival here in Knoxville, Tennessee. I rode my AiPAS Bike up to Volunteer HQ at the SEC Room in Hyatt Place to get my Thursday meal voucher. Then I rode over to Tarik's North African to get lunch with said voucher. Then I rode home and rested up before my evening first volunteer shift at The Greyhound at 100 Magnolia Ave. The shows that performed during my shift were: Turning Jewels into Water (Val Jeanie & Ravish Momin ) and SML.
After my shift, I went to The Black Box for Pan•American & Kramer.
Then I called it an evening and went home.
