According to Answers.com, a decade bridge is an: "Electronic apparatus for measurement of unknown values of resistances or capacitances by comparison with known values (bridge).
This one is built into a mahogany (I think) case. The hinges on the lid are broken, so the lid actually comes away from the rest of the case (the catches hold the lid in place, if you're not too rough). Instructions for setting the machine up are printed on the inside of the lid, which also has a bracket for holding a battery pack.
There is some staining on the case (not visible in photos)

Working Procedure of 11KV SF6 Gas Load Break Switch
The load switch that uses SF6 gas as insulation and arc extinguishing medium is called the SF6 load switch. It can be used to switch and switch load current and overload current, and it can also be used to switch and switch no-load circuits, no-load transformers, and capacitors. Tuning apparatus. The chain drive setup actually adjusts a plate for capacitance in side the PA housing. It is a ring that moves near or far from the ring or collar on the chimney that is in the next picture.In the center is a variable air cap for grid tuning.The tube in the upper right of the amplifier is a neutralizer. Adjusting that is to eliminate oscillation of the tube.

This is the back of the A-100 which I modified for my portable setup. There is a small power supply for my preamp and other circuitry added to the organ, power/leslie connectors, as well as interconnects for the floor unit which houses the original tube preamp and bass pedal contacts. The length of the original shielded cables must be kept the same to maintain the original sound of the organ, because the capacitance of each cable will change with length and affect the volume and frequency response.

Me and Marc had a great time shooting stuff in the dog park in Williamsburg today........ well we had some problems too....... its a long story but we were trying to shoot a lit portrait of a woman and her dog......... so we had a pile of kit that Marc was attempting to defend from over curious dogs....... the lighting gear has mega high electrical capacitance ....... you really dont want to wee on one of those things if you are a dog........ its much better to wee on Marc...... he had a couple of tricky incidents with this........ then one of the dogs knocks down the whole lighting rig ......... aggggghhhhh........ anyway it was fun we did the images for the commission...... and here is a curious looking puppy I shot right at the end........ a French Bulldog known as Gremlin.

This contains all of the math from the Faraday's Ice Bucket video. The work on the right is to calculate the capacitance of the meter and ice bucket by charging a known 33pF capacitor and using this charge to make a conversion between charge and voltage.
