Towards the shelter.

A heavy storm on the Baix Empordà coast causes small floods.

These storms were also accompanied by an electric device.

The heavy unloading of the storms also caused other problems that needed the help of the Firemen: they flooded low, parking lots, basements and were also required by embolsos embossados, among others.

Taken some five years ago at Sandy Creek Conservation Park. This little guy got me started on my journey in bird photography.

The familiar and friendly Black-capped Chickadee.

Have you heard the call of a Dusky-capped Flycatcher? Being from South America, he curls his rrrrr. Very adorable calls, I love hearing it.

Singing in the rain!

Attractive, perky warbler found in humid lowlands and foothills of Central and northern South America. Favors dense understory in forest and edge. Usually in pairs or small groups which hop around low in brush. Rather stout-billed. Also note white eyebrow, rusty cap and cheeks, and yellow underparts. Listen for high-pitched sputtering song. Once considered conspecific with Rufous-capped Warbler.

White-capped Redstart is a member of the Old World Flycatchers family that has a specific habitat requirement of rocky mountain watercourses. Both sexes of these birds have a white cap and are otherwise black except for chestnut underparts, rump, and upper part of the tail. They do the typical redstart behaviour of flicking and flaring the tail, which is thought to flush out insect prey. This species is known for its piercing call, necessary in a noisy environment of rushing water. This individual was seen on the creek near the Rong Fai Fa Ban Khun Klang Restaurant in Doi Inthanon National Park, Chiang Mai province, Thailand.

With a MM theme of "circles" how could I not make a squared circle? (I wish more people would!)

This is the underside of one of the two ball-point pen toppers that I photographed last week. I held it in a small quick-grip bar clamp to prop it up at the angle I wanted.

I can't explain the purple tint. It did not appear in all of my attempts; some had a greenish tint instead. The greenish tint seemed more noticeable in a few shots where I missed the focal distance by a little bit, so that the part I got in focus here ended up blurry (very shallow DOF). There was nothing purple or green in my setup or surroundings.

Possible contributing factors that I can think of:

- white balance (which I had on automatic) wavering right on the line between a couple of settings

- shiny chrome surface material

- bright, direct sunlight through apartment window

- UV filter on my lens

If I had some spare time maybe I'd try some experiments. But I don't.
