I went to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park this weekend, so I have lots of pictures to come. This photo was made in a candy store in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

After my 12 year old saw an episode of Food Network Unwrapped and learned about some Old Time candies like ValoMilk and Dots she had a million questions for me. I thought it would be fun for her to experience them herself, so we drove to the local Cracker Barrel and Wa-la!

After striking out at the Animal Protection League and County Dog Warden we took our found stray dog to the next stop on our trip, the Portage County Police Station. Candy is an excellent car passenger so she enjoyed the trip. The Police Station agreed to take the dog and they would transfer the dog to the Animal Shelter that handles our stray animals.
Candy is seen here with her new lease after the previous one snapped under minimal pulling and she ran around for a bit. The nice Dog Warden gave us a new one for the trip to the Police Station.
