Candy staring forward at Lake Havasu as I snapped away from well behind her. The border to Arizona and California is right in the middle of the lake, on the other side the structure you can see is actually the California side, where there's a casino that'll boat you over for $3. Add that to the list for 'next time'.
Lake Havasu is a beautiful destination, and one that's perfect to take the entire family to.

Since today was Santacon you'd expected the photo of the day to be something related to that....BUT when we got there it was pouring and we got soaked despite our dressing for the wet weather. So we went home, got dry, had a burrito and a nap and met up with our Santa friends later in the Castro for a while when it was not raining.
There were A LOT of Santas and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone elses photos of the event (my point and shoot got drenched, waiting for it to dry to see if it works still).

This week's theme is: Candy
A throwback to one of the favorite weeks of the original challenge. Your artistic inspiration this week is candy. Since this is the advanced challenge you can't actually use candy in the scene.
I struggled early on this week, in the end I just opened my eyes to what was around me and I spotted this little scene
they are headache medicine, and look like candy. metaphors, sarcasm and criticism on how people take them. that's where i got the title from. :)

Modified to two dollar bills from two squares.
I prefer to match the original model as close as possible, but in this case I was short on paper and had to make a few adjustments. I still like the final result, resembles a candy and still holds together with a minimum amount of folds. This is a simple and easy box to make. I raised the lid 1/8" for easy opening.
