Bucky's mother, Jane. This is a wonderful photograph of her, don't you think? She just won seven blue ribbons recently! Proudly a member of Lucky Charm Ranch. This photograph belongs to them too. www.luckycharmranch.com

Glass candies from Venice.

Above: Nikon D3s + Carl Zeiss Makro Planar T* 2/100. Below are three shots of the same scene with three different lenses, the Zeiss MP/100, the Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm f/2.8 ED and the Leica APO Macro Elmarit 100mm f/2.8 using a Sony Alpha NEX 5N and a Novoflex adapter. Further down below are three crops, all down-sampled to 500 x 450 pixels.

The Micro Nikkor 105/2.8 lens was focused using autofocus on a single point, the other two manually focused. All three were focused on the big white candy in the middle.

All three lenses show excellent sharpness at the center at max aperture. There is nothing in this image to compare corners, of course. The Zeiss shot was at f/2.8, to be consistent with the other two lenses.

The Nikon Micro Nikkor shows far more vignetting than the Zeiss. The Leica shows no vignetting at all, but that is because the NEX-5N produces a cropped image, so by definition, the image has no vignetting. It would be interesting to see how the Leica prints on a full frame sensor.

Both the Zeiss and the Leica show slightly better micro contrast at the actual pixel level. The Nikon introduced a slightly yellowish tinge to the image.

The Zeiss shows slight magenta fringing, which is the one known flaw of this otherwise incredible lens. In spite of the "ED" (Extra-low Dispersion) designation, the Nikkor also shows the same level of color fringing as the Zeiss. The Leica is true to its APO label - there is not a trace of color fringing or CA.

Felix is astonished by the abundance (and size) of the candy corn.

Felix is from Applause 1989.

It was an happy and sunny day at the park..we’ve just been there but it’s so different: the cloudy sky, the wind and all the daisies away…

The grass has been cut….but we had fun the same! One ball and some games!

Sometimes things change but you can make them look better!

Lassie was doing my model as always...Candy was sniffing in the grass....as always!!

:D

Happy new week!

95 year old Gail Halvorsen, best known as the Berlin Candy Bomber, has been around the world bringing joy and candy to children and adults alike. On July 3, 2015 he dropped approximately 1,000 candy bars, all with individual parachutes, to children waiting below at the Cries of Freedom event at SCERA Park from the aircraft shown above. This is likely his last candy drop after beginning the practice during the Berlin Airlift June 24, 1948 to May 11, 1949.

I decided to take a break from posting picture of flowers from the Conservatory of Flowers last Wednesday and post some more pictures Friday's day 100 trip to Macy's. This was in the candy area that they had set up kind of between the makeup and the watches.

Another shot from my trip to San Francisco. The sun was dropping and the fog was rolling in behind me... and damn it was cold!

I've never really played with a faux tilt shift effect before but I feel it works in this image. Any thoughts or critiques are always welcome!

I liked these animal illustrations on the candy packaging at a convenience store in town. The candy itself is unremarkable. It was labeled "caramel," but tasted like stale Sugus.

My Candy Bar inspiration began with party photos I saw from Perfect Party Orlando. It worked perfectly with the "Sweet Shoppe" theme and was fun to do. The kids (and adults!) loved gettign to fill bags with their favorites. The polka-dot boxes are from Hobby Looby and are going in my daughter's newly decorated room... soon!

I am back for a while... not cast on my leg now just a Moon-boot. Now I can start catching up on some of my photos from last Spring from around the city.

On a walk around my neighbourhood to catch up on what's happening September 18, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.

I told you I would have keep on taking still life photos to food.. and here you are, another one, this time Marshmallows !
