Was reprocessing an old pic. Infact I was not aware of starburst effect that time around( f big number). I got my DSLR in May 2014 and the Goa trip came in Sept. I was not knowing all the menus :)

The boat is the River Princess, which ran ashore on Candolim beach back in 2000 and has been there ever since.
I was staying 2 minutes away from this beach, so you're going to see lots of photos of this boat (and lots taken at sunset, as that was the only time it got cool enough to even think about taking photos!).

This is Mahundis who is a Sadhu or Holy Man in India. I met him in Candolim, Goa when we both saw each other at the same time in the street. I noticed him because of the way he was dressed and the very distinctive face. Apparently he liked my moustache so we complimented each other. Mahundis spoke very good English and I wish I had more time to find out more about him but he kindly posed for a couple of pictures before we parted.
Constructed in 1612 to guard against the Dutch and the Marathas, Fort Aguada is a piece of Portuguese architecture in the Indian subcontinent overlooking the Arabian Sea close to Candolim, at the shore of the Mandovi.

I just went on a business trip to India and managed to tag a couple of days in Goa in at the end. It was crazily hot, but I was able to get out and about and take a few photos.

Some of the world's greatest Goa Trance DJs performed live at the festival, the first of its kind in India. Three stages, with internationally reknowned DJs pounding out their beats through the day and late into the night, just off Candolim Beach in Goa, India.
The only crib, if any, was that the tickets were perhaps a bit exhorbitant for the value received.

One evening in November.
The beaches of south Goa are whiter and finer then the ones in the north. The large congregation of tourists are thankfully missing. You can breathe here compared to Calangute, Baga and Candolim where it is an open session of peddlars, pushers, dangerous watersports operators and the worst enemy of all mankind -- the B...... Tourists. ;-)) { May their Tribe Increase ;-))}

The sun peeks briefly out of the mass of sweltering clouds banked for almost 20000 feet over the earth. On the subcontinent of India, in the monsoon season, specially on the western coast it is a deluge of rain. Goa from May end to July is truly innundated. The sun makes brief appearances but for most parts it is nowhere to be seen. This day however, the clouds had been pushed eastwards to the mountains where they lay heavy sullen and ready to rock and roll.
The game of cricket on the beach of Candolim was progressing in great earnestness. Serious and devout players went through the motions of bowling and batting and chasing the rubber ball with a zeal not seen much in any other game. Where football used to be played on the sands, it is now cricket that is slowly taking over.
Whether cricket is a game or a religion is a matter of serious consideration. The jury is out on that. The game has transcended to a beheamoth industry and in the hearts and minds of the Indians it is a religion. The cricketers are demi gods and earn some big bucks and their incomes are not taxed as they are engaged in sporting activities. That like any other economic activity in India is only a fertile ground to evade all legitimate taxes and duties. Gods for their godliness get gifted Ferraris and Michael Schumacher comes to present the keyes. The gods, they do not want to pay customs duty and claim them as non taxable receipts. Then gods also sell them in the market and make money.
Dishonesty and lying are not a disease but bigger religion in India. It transcends cricket easily for its fine cultured presence for more then a thousand years. Cricket is only a recent import. Thomas Babington Macaulay wrote inciteful essays on India and Indians around 1835 exposing them for all their goodness and their badness. Worth a read anytime. It used to be available as a free ebook in the early days of the internet, it might still be there.
