Camp Adventure Forest Tower

Camp Adventure welcomes you to the spectacular 45 meter high Forest Tower in Gisselfeld Kloster's forests close to high Forest Tower in Gisselfeld Kloster's forests close to EFFEKT Architects and completes an ambition to create an aesthetically beautiful construction and a unique experience of nature.

The cylinder shape was starting point for the construction, maximizing the base and the top while minimizing the center. The structure is a so-called hyperboloid form. The long vertical steel pipes aren't bent, but rotated 120 °, giving a curved expression, like an hourglass. This not only increases stability, but also enhances the experiencer, as the tree tops come close to the narrow middle piece. Moving up, the view tower broadens and the landscape opens as the distance between the ramps increases. It all culminates at the top with a 360° view of the landscape.

The main structure is made from corten steel - its reddish brown color fitting well with the colors of the forest. The oak boards on the ramp are made from local South Zealand oak trees from Bregentved and Gisselfeld Estates. All timber is PEFC-certified.

A commissioned mosaic quilt for a man. My husband said it reminded him of camping even before he saw the Happy Camping print, so I guess that's a good sign. I took this before washing it and I think that maybe it works better to photograph quilts this way. It measures about 61" x 74".

Vorrei sempre essere altrove, dove non sono, nel luogo dal quale sono or ora fuggito. Solo nel tragitto tra il luogo che ho appena lasciato e quello dove sto andando io sono felice.

This is my only photo from our camping trip. It was cold and rainy the whole time till the last day. So as we were winding things up to leave, I quickly took this shot. I still had a wonderful and relaxing time though!

oh, how this would have been made awesome had it been shot with a long exposure..but, alas.. i did not have my tripod.

We camped in the woods just below the snowline. We had no tents, but instead made shelters from our ponchos. In the middle of the night it rained and the hood of my poncho filled with water and then let loose on me. It was one of the coldest, wettest and most uncomfortable nights I ever spent.

Tucked away in the trees. my tent blends in nicely with the trees.
