One of my favorite haunts in the fall, with cliffs and aspen and cottonwoods all around.
I travel light--tent, camp chair, small gas stove and a cooler. Each year, I try to add at least one to my list of favorite places.

From the Hoffmaster campground there is a small dune for climbing. Make sure to climb the dune at sunset, you will get one of the most amazing views of all Lake Michigan!
I thought I'd better follow-up my Angel's Landing post from a couple days ago with a legitimate campsite photo. This was taken in New Zealand from a high alpine ridge near Mount Cook. Fortunately, somebody had built a nice rock barricade to protect from the wind. I really liked the late twilight glow in the sky with Mt Cook emerging through the clouds. I had to use ISO 640 since there was enough wind to cause tent blur (1.3sec exposure). Even still, there is some slight movement in the tent.

This was taken whiie camping at a waterhole on the Oodnadatta Track. This is a 600-kilometer rough and corrugated road that takes one through the South Australian outback.
A photo from 2020. Snowbird Mesa near Overton, Nevada. No neighbors, water, internet or electricity. All the comforts of home, as long as you brought it with you. The only thing supplied is free camping, scenery and solitude.

Skin Fair 2020 North Presented by pGp and Taox Tattoo
Funny story behind this photo. We were riding along an Extremely bumpy, pothole filled gravel road talking about how there weren't as many bears out and about (one fellow at a local restaurant said the place was Crawling with them!) and I said the only way you would ever see one is if it jumped out in front of you and low and behold, out popped this little one! As soon as he saw us he popped back into the weeds and headed down this steep incline. Glasses off, window down camera trying desperately to focus past the weeds. Out of about 25 shots, this looks (so far) to be the only salvageable one. When he considered himself at a safe distance, he commenced to eating grasses and leaves. We couldn't help but be struck by the irony of our negative conversation considering seeing a bear and this one's sudden appearance! It was a Fantastic camping trip all the way around and I do have more photos to share. Thank you for your patience as I catch up with all of your lovely photos! :)
