On the roof of the World, at 5000 meters in the Himachal Pradesh mountains, close to Sarchu, I've found this little particular tents camp. The contrast of their rich pink tones has captured my curiosity while the I was looking the sky that was rapidly changing, while was painting the tall moutains with light and shadows.

My style of camping! We are parked as close as we can get to the largest shade available and have amazing views of Mount Shasta, near Weed, California. We were told that this road would be too rough for our rig, and we would have trouble turning around. There were some bumpy areas, and we did back up a really long way ,but we were the only people here and it was so worth it. A very relaxing 3 days and nights

Last evening the Paul R. Tregurtha (longest freighter on the Great Lakes) going down bound by our camp site. So we lit a couple sparklers to end our special day. HSS

From the Hoffmaster campground there is a small dune for climbing. Make sure to climb the dune at sunset, you will get one of the most amazing views of all Lake Michigan!

Butte Valley is over the hill and the mountains beyond are the eastern Panamints. The trail over the hill goes to Stella's camp and to the chairs.

For several reasons, I prefer to stay at Russell's when I am in Butte Valley. I would love to be there now.
