Taken outside the Compton Courthouse on Tuesday 2.22.11. I was taking a picture of the double railroad crossing when a man walked across the street while a cop drove by. I thought they ruined my shot but they actually made the shot. It's exciting and dramatic. :)

The "Log Cabin" was built in 1904 by Morgan Gress for his private use. Ed Rivers bought the structure in 1928. His family lived there until November 23, 1935, when is burned to the ground. Depicted here are Mrs. Rivers, their son "D", and daughter Jerry. Mrs. Lawson Patten, holding her infant son Robert, visits with her friend, while Ralph Berryhill (wearing the catcher's mitt) talks with "D" and was the son of George Gress, who established the larger lumber mill in Milltown at the turn of the century. The Log Cabin remained the social center of Milltown/Lakeland until it burned the year for Rivers was elected Governor of Georgia.

Light Beams Series : 1 of 4
I love abstract and in regards to iPhoneography, I simply adore the Decim8 app for its precision selections and random results. This series of 4 shots was taken at our family business annual Christmas lights display and the specific scene is our lighted train that moves around the premises. The lighting of the sky was absolutely perfect for me to capture these shots and after countless shots, I chose the 4 that I wanted to best represent the series. These shots were not shot with Decim8 but with the train coming right at me, the beams of light give a radiant "beamrider-like" look that appears to have possibly been shot using Decim8. I dedicate this series of 4 shots to Decim8 app creator, Kris Collins @movax in appreciation for his contributing to the art of iPhoneography.

An hour later, and half an hour more, she's still not up, not a stir, not a wink. Ought someone wake her? Caution, I say, caution. Meddle not in the affairs of sleeping stars, for they are grumpy, and you are easily turned into a crispy snack.
