This area was the site of the Acadian Villiage of Beaubassin, first known Bourgeois settlement. Raided in 1696 and again in 1703 by a force from Boston under Captain Ben Church. Occupied bt French Trrops in 1746 who travelled on snowshoes in February 1747 to make a suprise midnight attack on Grand Pré. In 1750 the entire village of 131, church mill, and tannery was burnded by Indians under orders of Abbe la Loutre and the inhabitants force to go to French Territory.

hillarygayle: @oohemma absolutely. We visit every chance we get, & each time we leave I feel homesick. I think I may be meant to live there. Bryan & I are already talking about retiring to Eureka Springs.
oohemma: @hillarygayle I would not mind living there at all. I prefer living by the ocean, but northern AR is the exception.
Last time I tried to point out to a chemtrail enthusiast how changes in air moisture, air temperature and air pressure might form clouds or fog out of water vapour (watch your breath in winter, fogged-up glasses when you come in from the cold, that little *psscht* of mist when you open a beer), and that those long, white trails following air planes need not involve chemicals with the vicious purpose of turning the population into mindless sheep (why would anyone have to when we already have "reality" television?), I was accused of working for the government and advised to not act all surprised at being put against a wall before a firing squad when the revolution comes.
