hillarygayle: @oohemma absolutely. We visit every chance we get, & each time we leave I feel homesick. I think I may be meant to live there. Bryan & I are already talking about retiring to Eureka Springs.
oohemma: @hillarygayle I would not mind living there at all. I prefer living by the ocean, but northern AR is the exception.
Last time I tried to point out to a chemtrail enthusiast how changes in air moisture, air temperature and air pressure might form clouds or fog out of water vapour (watch your breath in winter, fogged-up glasses when you come in from the cold, that little *psscht* of mist when you open a beer), and that those long, white trails following air planes need not involve chemicals with the vicious purpose of turning the population into mindless sheep (why would anyone have to when we already have "reality" television?), I was accused of working for the government and advised to not act all surprised at being put against a wall before a firing squad when the revolution comes.

Nearby to the east is Jamestown, the original site of the first permanent English colony in North America. On 14 May 1607, a group of just over 100 men and boys recruited by the Virginia Company of London came ashore and established a settlement at Jamestown Island. They constructed a palisaded fort there within the territory of the Paspahegh Indians, who with other Virginia Indians had frequent contact with the English. In 1619 the first English representative legislative body in North America met there, and the first documented Africans arrived. Jamestown served as the capital of the Virginia colony from 1607 to 1699. Historic Jamestowne preserves this original site and the archaeological remains.

I *LIKE* the Salvation Army ringers. I think the drive from people to shut them up just shows a sadness and cynicism we people have developed over time.
I know some people can't stand the Salvation Army for their anti-gay stance. And you know, I understand anti-anti-gay people, but I think in our crusade to be tolerant, a lot of people have become just as intolerant of the intolerance that they can't stand. This was a discussion I had yesterday on Chick-Fil-A, but just as applicable.
