Notoriously skittish, kingfishers are difficult to approach and usually see me before I see them & so I typically only know they're around when they suddenly fly away letting out their rattling machine-gun call! Such was the case with this young Belted Kingfisher however I was able to relocate it and, using the cover of some pond-side trees, slowly creep up to get this shot of him just at the moment he saw me. A second later, true to form, he was gone!
Nikon FE loaded with Kentmere 400 B&W film.
I know no one cares, but I am having a great time shooting with this old stuff.
