Here's my calculation. Note that my battery was reading 9V, so I plugged that in for my EMF. You should plug in whatever you read on your voltmeter. (In Fall, 2019 when these notes are from, it was 9.49V)

The Device allows automatic calculations of the Concrete Maturity Index by tracking temperature changes in fresh concrete over time. The system leads to effective planning of construction operations, such as heating, moistening of pouring, removal of formwork, etc.

Without maturity monitoring, in-place concrete strength is estimated by performing compressive cylinder tests in a laboratory. Relying solely on lab tests requires several specimens and can waste valuable time if a project’s in-place concrete reaches sufficient strength before standard test intervals. In the construction business, time is money.

So, according to my calculations, it takes at least 8 minutes to walk to the corner, at least 15 minutes to wait for a bus, and at least an hour to get to work via said bus, and another 8 minutes to walk to work from the bus stop.

Screw that, it was raining buckets this morning. I woke up at 5:45am, in order to call a cab. Said cab ride cost me 25$. Then I left my cell phone in the cab. Had my co-worker speed dial that sucker, and thankfully the cabby brought it back. This was the start of my day. The rest of the day was lame. Scheduled event, lame turn-out, wishing I was at home. Caught another ride home thankfully, came home exhausted for some reason. Watched trashy tv (speaking of, yet another celeb sighting at work. Clearly I am the only one who watches this show, but Nadia from VH1's you're cut off, was in with her mom? and her kid. My co-workers totally laughed at me b/c Kerri Russel, America Ferrerra, Super Nanny, Solange, all these basketball players and their wives, a few rappers, politicians, some guys from Wrestlemania have come through, and I get excited about a basically non-celeb which no one recognizes but me...okay, on this tangent, but I thought this was crazy weird: My former job in my college days was situated right next to a Foot Locker. Now this foot locker wasn't in some fancy area, or busy place, it was just a run of the mill strip mall area...but every other month, my supervisor there would come squealing about this and that basketball star that was there, none of which I knew, but apparently it was some sort of secret this Foot Locker for those in the know. Clearly I was never in the know, but the girls would just go and fawn over whomever it was..and of course, who would watch the store...yeah...that's what happens when you don't care).

Picture: My soft light behind me. I've been a bit lazy with my lights, b/c these days I only care to be bothered with the one light set-up. Maybe I'll go for the three this weekend.

I measured the text; it was 625 picas long. If I set 23 lines, then Line 12 would be the average length, or 27.2 picas. I created a spreadsheet to calculate the length of each line and the amount of spacing to add to the margin for each successive line. After some rewriting that was necessary for justification, I needed to go to 24 lines. Now I knew how much space was left for the illustration.

This is what happens when you Flickr at work. You bring work home to do after your dinner & shower. Screwed priorities, I tell you.

This sorta reminds me of my uni days when I used to sit at my dining table and do my homework/revision/study. Except this time the money's real, I'm going through like 60pages of projections and forecasts and calculations, and I've got a tighter deadline.

Feb. 27, 2013. Brighton, MA.

Boston-area residents affected by what they call predatory rent spikes and evictions will protest Brighton-based City Realty Group, LLC and its subsidiaries at 3:00pm Wednesday, staging an action outside the company’s headquarters at 370 Chestnut Hill Avenue. The action was organized by tenant rights groups City Life/Vida Urbana and Chelsea Collaborative.

Advocates argue that City Realty Group is using the foreclosure crisis to buy up homes at rock-bottom prices, then going back on its word to tenants and instituting predatory rent hikes that are well beyond original lease agreements. Despite its promises, the firm has refused to negotiate with tenants, opting instead to move forward with immediate eviction proceedings. In addition to an immediate eviction moratorium, groups like City Life and Chelsea Collaborative are calling for fair rent calculations based on both the owner’s mortgage/maintenance costs and overall affordability for existing tenants.

Doing some calculations on Brewzor on my Droid2, and of course keeping up with the HomeBrewTalk forums. My name is jasonsargo there. Brewzor, OI Coundown, HomeBrewTalk forums, CPooley's spreadsheet and BeerSmith are all highly recommended. Oh, and having the outdoor speakers with Unified Remote on my Droid2 controlling Windows Media Player is frigging sweet, too.

A survey monument at Coit Tower in San Francisco. January 2009. This monument was placed by the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey agency in 1954.

I was about to label this as a benchmark, but that is not correct. Benchmarks are survey monuments of highly precise elevation, used to measure and survey elevation or height above mean sea level. But this is a horizontal control station, used to survey / establish horizontal locations (latitude and longitude, or other systems of x and y coordinates) on the Earth's surface.

This disk station is named "PLAZA" and "HT3075". You can get detailed data on this survey marker from NOAA's National Geodetic Survey data. Try this link: www.ngs.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/ds_mark.prl?PidBox=HT3075

Looking at the data sheet may give you some idea of how this station is used in mapping. From this point, angles to other visible survey markers are precisely measured with survey equipment. Through triangulation and other mathematical calculations, precise locations of the network of control points is determined. The datasheet shows other nearby survey points that were used in this way, including the Alcatraz lighthouse, the north and south piers of the Golden Gate Bridge, points on the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island, a point on the Ferry Building, a beacon on a breakwater in Berkeley, etc.
