I did loads of calculations today about hydraulic cylinders lifting various different lengths and sizes of pipe.

EGFR stands for the estimated Glomerular filtration rate. This is the best overall index of kidney function. The normal GFR varies according to sex, body size, age, and declines as increasing age.
E field calculations for VDG top terminal. The attached plot shows the E field magnitude for a 10 cm radius sphere with a 10 cm hole held at a voltage of 150 KV. The center of the sphere is at a height of 50 cm from the ground plane. The current hole edge is 1 mm thick and is not curved in to reduce the E field.

well ...some dubious calculations ended up with my 19th fret almost whole - or if whole so close to the board end to look silly - so I decided a 20th fret would sort my problem.

I can now begin my calculations to determine my mid-season yield of Blue Lake bush beans in the pentagon bed.
* number of producing plants=16 ea.
*number of seeds planted=40 ea. (4" on center) (5/10/11)
*area of planted seeds= 4.8 s.f.
*area of mature plant leaf cover= 12 s.f. ( includes incroachment in purple basil,chard and path)
* 8/4/11 harvest= 1 lbs. 3 oz. (86 days from seed)
* harvest #1 & #2 + 1 lbs 5 oz. (estimated)
* total harvest to date = 2 lbs. 8 oz. (2 1/2 lbs)
* yield per s. f. (mid season) =2.5/5 = 0.5 lbs per s.f. or ($1.50 per s.f. at farmers market ($3 per lb.) prices.
Notes;1) needs comparison to blue lake pole beans planted 7/10/11
2) should have a couple of more harvests but expect that they will not be as huge as this one.
3) Normal consumption of green beans per week by Sawyer family = 2 1/2 lbs. (80% in salads with "Sawyers Own" dressing)
4) Kentucky Wonder pole beans planted along fence behind TOMATO BED have covered their trellises to the very TOP and have yet to produced ONE DAMN BEAN....
BLBB harvest #4= 12 oz 8/20/11
BLBB harvest #5 = 12oz. 8/28/11 Kentucky Wonders are now producing some beans but they are stringy, flat, rubbery,and are bunched up high of the supports above my reach (with out ladder). KW rating 3 out of 10
I had a small showing at a local coffee shop called Diva's, so I finished a few new paintings for the show. This was one I had thumbnailed a few years ago and I never had the chance to flesh it out. I'm really glad I did, I like it, alot.

I visited the El Campo Santo Cemetery in San Diego's Old Town, specifically looking for photos for a class assignment.
This cemetery was used for burials from 1849 to 1880. 477 were buried in it. It was originally much larger then the current site, but shrank due to encroachments from later development.
Example of an unmarked grave that looks like it may have been marked in the past.
