This is a photograph from the 4th and final round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 27th May 2015 at 20:00. The weather was perfect for running and racing again and gave bright sunshine with some breeze. The weather conditions were favourable for runners this evening. As this was the final night of a very successful league there were many category prizes up for grabs with runners having to ensure they ran their races to gain the required finish times for the overall calculations. There was a great atmosphere at the finish as spectators cheered on the runners. This year's 5KM is ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. The final 1KM is within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification means that the race offers a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years. In the prize giving and awards in Belvedere House Cafe there were refreshments served for runners and this brought the curtain down on the Road League for 2015.

The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Runners can also choose to just run one race without being considered for the overall league placings. Over 330 people took part in tonight's event bring the total from the four nights to so far to well over 1,400 runners. As with all of the previous weeks the new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 is now over but has continued successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series. Despite the bright evenings the photographic conditions in Belevedere are difficult so this photograph is part of a smaller than usual photograph set as there were many blurred photographs this evening.

The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Okay so for all of you gasoline sensitive and conscious minded folks in all of the United States who are out there and who are reading this now on Flicker.

By what is now my current and my present observation and estimation and calculation. The value and the cost passed onto us now for a gallon of gasoline here at least in the state of Ohio is now about $ 3.90 and rising.

So what all of this means to you and to me is for that one gallon of gasoline at what is a unit cost of what is $ 3.90 per gallon.

You can divide and break down that unit cost of that gallon down into about 25 miles traveled for one gallon on your automobile.

I know that some cars vary in their consumption of a gallon of gas and their mileage.

And the cost of a gallon of gasoline at a unit price of $ 3.90 per gallon when it is divided down into about 25 miles traveled for just one gallon comes to about what is 15 point six cents per mile traveled.

So that means that you and me and just about everyone else are consuming and burning away about 15 cents or possibly more per mile for every mile for which is traveled in our automobiles.

Whether we are driving down to the store for a loaf of bread or driving across the country. I believe my math is correct and I welcome someone to point out any mathematical error should they detect it.

So then we are spending about 15 cents per mile for every mile traveled in our automobiles. And this of course naturally assumes that the $ 3.90 cost of gasoline will stay fixed at around $ 3.90 for a gallon.

And I am just making a rough guess estimation here. I am imagining that most cars can get about 350 miles traveled on a full tank right down to an empty tank.

So the cost of 15 cents per mile times when you have a full tank multiplied by 350 miles traveled from full to empty comes to a cost of about $ 52.50.

Most gas tank seem to have about 16 cubic square volume gallons to them. So the cost of a gallon of gasoline at about $ 3.90 times about 16 gallons comes to about $ 62.40 to fill an average tank.

So then the cost of $ 62.40 to fill up your 16 gallon tank, divided down into .15 cents per mile, comes to 416 miles traveled from full to empty. Be sure and let me know what you think. Go ahead and do the math on your calculator and tell me if you think this is wrong.

273: JULY 19, 2011, TUESDAY,

If my calculations are correct, today would indicate that I am 75% done with my 365 project. And now for a few words: As I mentioned earlier on in the month, I am just now starting to feel 365 fatigue. With my first one I felt it a mere two weeks after I started, but this go round, I'm so relaxed about it. I'm like, hmm, take picture, done. The first time around I think I wanted to "create" adventures within my days and create in photoshop a lot, but this time around, I'm letting life do the talking.

This is M. We were outside marveling at the rain and trying to close the shed. Ever the gentleman, M volunteered to run out in the rain and close the shed so that my hair wouldn't get wet, but he couldn't get the lock code, so I still had to do it, but it was nice that he offered to do it without asking. There are still good guys out there. I have no given up hope on mankind just yet :o).

Do you remember doing this as a kid. You'd get up on that pull up bar and flip over. Somehow, its like every kid at some point figures out how to do this and its like the best feeling in the world. If that Arnold Swartzenegger physical fitness test had had how many over unders can you do instead of pull ups, maybe I could have passed this test as a child. I mean seriously, why the hell did they ever think testing girls on pull ups or push ups was a good idea? There was only ever like the one girl who could actually do it, and she was the tomboy.

Anyway, today was crazy busy. Lots of visitors because we are an indoor location, and when it rains, the masses come to us. Tonight I've got to bake again. This time, baseball cupcakes, and my first official time working with fondant.

Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

The Device allows automatic calculations of the Concrete Maturity Index by tracking temperature changes in fresh concrete over time. The system leads to effective planning of construction operations, such as heating, moistening of pouring, removal of formwork, etc.

Without maturity monitoring, in-place concrete strength is estimated by performing compressive cylinder tests in a laboratory. Relying solely on lab tests requires several specimens and can waste valuable time if a project’s in-place concrete reaches sufficient strength before standard test intervals. In the construction business, time is money.

Well, after some quick back of the envelope calculations, Mr Fox calculated that the drop was just short enough, should Mrs PB fall, to render her unconscious and a safe distance from falling beans!

Maybe letting the wagon plummet wasn't the optimal solution, but feeling a little weary he decided to go for the easy solution!

Fortunately, as predicted, the blow to Mrs PB's head was just sufficient for her to forget how she got it!

Mr Fox feeling slightly guilty, and Mrs PB a little concussed, they whiled away a lazy afternoon baking a quiche!

By my calculations...I am nine days behind on my Project...started March 18th...215 days...might have to start playing catch up before I leave for New York next week.

William Oughtred and others developed the slide rule in the 17th century based on the emerging work on logarithms by John Napier. Before the advent of the pocket calculator, it was the most commonly used calculation tool in science and engineering. The use of slide rules continued to grow through the 1950s and 1960s even as digital computing devices were being gradually introduced; but around 1974 the electronic scientific calculator made it largely obsolete and most suppliers left the business.

"Crematorium I operated from August 15, 1940 until July 1943. According to calculations by the German authorities, 340 corpses could be burned every 24 hours after the installation of the three furnaces.

The largest room in this building was designated as a morgue. It was adapted as the first provisional gas chamber in the autumn of 1941. The SS used Zyklon B to kill thousands of Jews upon arrival, as well as several groups of Soviet prisoners of war.

Prisoners selected in the hospital as unlikely to recover their health quickly were also killed in the gas chamber. Poles sentenced to death by the German summary court.

After the establishment in Auschwitz II-Birkenau of two more provisional gas chambers, Bunkers No. 1 and No. 2 (the so-called "little red house" and "little white house"), the camp authorities shifted the mass murder of the Jews there and gradually stopped using the first gas chamber."

Feb. 27, 2013. Brighton, MA.

Boston-area residents affected by what they call predatory rent spikes and evictions will protest Brighton-based City Realty Group, LLC and its subsidiaries at 3:00pm Wednesday, staging an action outside the company’s headquarters at 370 Chestnut Hill Avenue. The action was organized by tenant rights groups City Life/Vida Urbana and Chelsea Collaborative.

Advocates argue that City Realty Group is using the foreclosure crisis to buy up homes at rock-bottom prices, then going back on its word to tenants and instituting predatory rent hikes that are well beyond original lease agreements. Despite its promises, the firm has refused to negotiate with tenants, opting instead to move forward with immediate eviction proceedings. In addition to an immediate eviction moratorium, groups like City Life and Chelsea Collaborative are calling for fair rent calculations based on both the owner’s mortgage/maintenance costs and overall affordability for existing tenants.

And it did our thinking

While we lived our lives

It counted up our feelings

And divided them up even

And it called our calculation

Stereostatic model. Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family. Barcelona

... Gaudí spent ten years working on studies for the design, and developing a new method of structural calculation based on a stereostatic model built with cords and small sacks of pellets. The outline of the church was traced on a wooden board (1:10 scale), which was then placed on the ceiling of a small house next to the work site. Cords were hung from the points where columns were to be placed. Small sacks filled with pellets, weighing one ten-thousandth part of the weight the arches would have to support, were hung from each catenaric arch formed by the cords. Photographs were taken of the resulting model from various angles, and the exact shape of the church's structure was obtained by turning them upside-down obtaining therefore the form, absolutely precise and exact, of the structure of the building, without having to have conducted an operation of calculation and without possibility of error. The forms of cords corresponded to the lines of tension of the prim structure and when inverting the photo, the lines of pressure of the compressed structure were obtained. An absolutely exact and simple method, giving an example of the intuitive and elementary methods that Gaudí applied in its architecture and that allowed him to obtain balanced forms very similar to which nature offers. One can also find the same expressive power of Gaudí's monumental works in his oddly graceful chairs and tables. Upon entering Gaudí's architecture, one encounters the totality of his artistic contribution of integrating materials, processes and poetics. His approach to furniture design was a sinuous spatial continuum that exceeds structural expression and becomes one with the architectural idea.

Two members of the Sealab II team use slide rules as they make calculations. The person to the right may be project co-lead Walt Mazzone.

This photograph was likely taken by Jay D. Skidmore, a Navy photographer and aquanaut on Sealab II’s Team 1.

The Sealab II project demonstrated the possibilities of saturation diving, a new approach to undersea work that kept divers underwater for days or weeks at a time. Saturation divers enjoyed unprecedented lengths of work time in exchange for only one decompression period.

In July 1964, four aquanauts spent four days living underwater in the first Sealab experiment — the first real-life test of saturation diving. The following year, the Navy drastically expanded the scale of testing with Sealab II. Beginning August 28, 1965, three teams of ten divers spent 15 days each living and working 205 feet underwater off LaJolla, California. They tested underwater tools, raised a sunken fighter jet, conducted geological studies, set up a weather station, and worked with a dolphin named Tuffy trained to carry tools and messages between the habitat and the surface.

For their efforts, the Sealab II team was awarded the Navy Unit Commendation — the first time it was given to a mixed military and civilian scientific team.

We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157653157747838

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

I decided to cover Alipore Zoo this time by any means. After much calculation I was able to squeeze out 3 hours of time for the zoo. And here’s one of the results. This place is nice for birds. Migratory birds are specialty of Alipore Zoo. This bird in the picture is a migratory bird. Hurt one of his wings and settled down here.

My favorite vegetable drink. Please have a look at the bottom of the package. "Vegetable 50% + Fruit 50% = 100%", which is written in Japanese. That's interesting, but wrong calculation...
