A very recently-opened Little Caesars in Alpena. This is the THIRD time that they've had a store in Alpena; the first one moved and the second one closed when the owner decided to rebrand a few as Spicy Bob's.

The Wright & Filippis in the background used to be a second location for Lud's Hamburgers. It closed well before the flagship store on the other end of town.

In today's Tijuana, only the Caesar's Sports Bar and Grill, next door to Hotel Caesars, is closest to the historical ground zero of the salad. Until around 1993, the restaurant in The Coronet Bar, and Restaurant Caesar's Palace (both defunct), competed with the restaurant in Hotel Caesars for the "best Caesar's Salad" in Tijuana.

I went to a toga party last night, and took a few shots. And then some photos :P [badum-tiss, amirite?! (sorry)] Anyway, I hoped this would come out a li'l better, but handheld low-light environments with high-contrast fireworks is something I'm not well versed in yet. Anyway, I quite liked seeing our costumed friend here watching the show. Cheers, and hail Blutarsky :)

This is Baby Caesar, inspired by my son's very bald head and pokey ears. His head and ears were just crying out to wear a laurel wreath.

I made the tunic from a homemade pattern and used white cotton. The drape is simply purple broadcloth with finished edges and a gold ribbon trim.

The laurel wreath is craft wire covered in gold ribbon with leaves cut off a clearance rack bouquet of fake flowers.

Las Vagas is ripe with photographic opportunities. This unique escalator was photographed within Caesar's Palace casino.

Caesar beat the odds and put up an amazing fight, he lived well past the 3 months the vets predicted, but no amount of money or vet care could save him and this morning we had to let him go. We will miss him dearly.

little caesars is a blessing and a curse. Cheap pizza which doesnt taste that bad.

I wish the pizza box was alittle bit cooler than this, maybe someday!

One of my lame stupid goals is to make a small art book of pizza box art. A combination of my love of pizza with graphics and screen printing.

Heading down to Staffal - amusing ourselves by texting Dennis to say we were one valley over.

On Monday, Jim, Carl, and I lounged around the timeshare eating breakfast and checking email. We then drove north on I-15 to Valley of Fire. On our way back to Vegas, we stopped at Overton Beach and Echo Bay Resort. That evening we enjoyed a delicious meal at Lawry's.

Interesting Fact about his hotel:

Built in 1966. Caesars Palace was built with mob money.

Founded by Jay Sarno and Stanley Mallin. Sarno was a colorful character with a big appetite, you might say. To fulfill his big vision for Caesars, Sarno and Mallin got a $10.6 million loan from the Teamsters Union pension fund, sometimes referred to as “the mob’s bank.” The mob’s money was courtesy of none other than union boss Jimmy Hoffa. {Knowledge is Power}

Caesar likes trig pillars.

Caesar was busy painting a beautiful mural on the wall of a coffee shop in Toronto and I just had to go back and ask him about his artwork. He removed his headphones and explained that this was a job commissioned by the owner of the coffee shop and he had "won" the job over several other artists who had competed for it.

He told me that he is a graduate of the local art college and enjoys doing art projects with children as well as large-scale projects such as this one. He showed me some of his portfolio on his smart phone and the paintings were large and remarkably detailed. Caesar told me this job was set to take 5 days to complete and that he can't paint when the temperature drops near the freezing point because the paint will not adhere.

He liked the idea of the 100 Strangers Project but it took a bit of coaxing to get him to show me his face for the photo. It was a very nice interaction and he encouraged me to return in a few days to see the finished product.

Thank you Caesar for helping me with my project and for becoming Stranger #9.
